I’m mentally processing that Tinder #OSINT post from @dutch_osintguy. Information possibly available is:
1. Photo (reverse image potential)
2. Name (alias discovery)
3. Age (false positive potential)
4. Occupation (location possibility)

Many points of iteration here to explore!
I spent some time exploring the page source; Tinder does a good job at buttoning up.
I’m going to write an #OSINT article on this thought bubble to expand it out a bit this week.

[#OSINT] You can use Twint to find indirect relationships between users. By matching the “conversation_id” to multiple queries, you can discover more insight.
For example, let’s say you’re trying to find violent users on Twitter that are threatening an influencer. Twitter only limits you to search for “influencer name” + “violent keyword”. Using Twint, you can search for all “violent keywords” and then match it to influencer mentions
You can also mine replies within Twint. It’s not in the Wiki, but adding “c.To =“ to your python module will allow you to pull tweets sent “to” someone. By finding the accounts that most mention said influencer, you can take this a a step further

@GenFlynn spent much of his career with the airborne. I believe he has a T-10R-B reserve parachute on in picture. Not sure about context of photo, reverse image search didn’t find anything. I imagine photo is one of a kind. 🇺🇸

#OSINT THREAD: Heightened IRIN readiness! As of 20/07/2019, the IRIN has deployed warships to patrol the Persian Gulf & Gulf of Oman. These include 2x British built Alvand-class Frigates, 1x Iranian built Mowj-class frigate, and 1x British built Ol-class replenishment ship. 1/4
It's strange that the 33,000 ton IRIS Kharg (Ol-class) replenishment ship is missing. This ship is usually only deployed for very long range deployments and port calls, for example to East Asia or the Mediterranean. Unclear why it is missing from its mooring spot. 2/4
As of 20/07/2019, Alvand-class frigates IRIS Alvand (71) and IRIS Sabalan (73), as well as Mowj-class frigate IRIS Sahand are missing from their usual berths. Mowj-class vessel IRIS Jamaran (73) remains in its berth - white helipad just visible. 3/4

We at @Bellingcat are often asked how one can help with #OSINT research. Well, here's a good example where geolocation and time determination is needed of 4 images, allegedly taken in Crimea. It would foster the investigative work of @houpaciosel. Context in thread below 👇
The person in the photos is Andrej Babiš Jr (35), son of Czech Prime Minister @AndrejBabis who's facing a political crisis after his son said he'd been kidnapped in Crimea to stop him giving evidence in a fraud case against his father. More context: bbc.com/news/world-eur….
The Czech PM denies that his son was kidnapped, and these 4 photos are used as a proof that his son and his companion (with hat) were voluntarily in Crimea during the Fall of 2017. Geolocation and time determination of these photos could shed a light on facts and/or fiction.

This is a short thread on how to use Microsoft's Video Indexer (VI) to easily extract valuable insights from videos. Analysing open source information, especially hours of video footage is time-consuming so tools like VI can come in pretty handy 1/6
For this exercise, I use a 1h51m long video from a far-right rally in London (Sat 14 Jul), which I downloaded from YouTube & then uploaded onto the VI platform. Uploading time was around 6-8 min, whereas indexing took 44 min (trial account). 2/5
If you take a look at the right side: VI lists all people appearing in the video and (for some) even provides a short bio. It also displays the exact time(s) the person appears in the video (an advantageous feature that could save analysts valuable time) 3/6
