This sounds convincing but it dodges the issue.
The BBC is not impartial on democracy vs dictatorship or whether there should be a free press. It accepts basic liberal democratic political values.
The question then is whether racism is included in that and whether presenters can bring their experience of it to bear.
This didn't used to be an issue, because mainstream politicians would never question those values. But now they do. So the BBC is having to decide whether it will shift with them or hold to those basic values.
