Teaching Intro to American Government right now is a trip, I tell you what.
I literally gave my students a quiz last week asking (among other things) what the role of the Supreme Court was in impeachment of the president.

I may have to review and regrade the quizzes before handing them back.
I don't THINK any of them wrote "The Supreme Court's role is to rule on whether Members of Congress may be criminally prosecuted for bringing impeachment proceedings," but if any of them did? Their grade is getting revised WAY up.
So ... since Rudy deleted the tweet, does that mean their grades revert?

Maybe this is obvious to everyone else, but it just hit me that while Trump is almost certainly going to be the nominee next year, if he isn't, he's absolutely going to do everything in his power to destroy whoever is—and whoever in the party he believes betrayed him.
Pence could maybe somehow possibly win at the top of the ticket if Trump went quietly, but since Trump won't go quietly, the GOP has to anticipate a total shellacking in 2020 if they take him out—up and down the ballot.

🚨New housing stats - woo hoo!🚨 LFS data combined with @MHCLG EPC data suggests the surplus housing stock grew strongly again last year to 1.24 million dwellings. Up from 660k in 1996. On latest data it'll probably rise again in 2019-20...
LFS suggests +131k households in England this year than last, but single years are bumpy. Average of +178k over past 5 years.

So for comparison:
@ONS's revised household projections of 160-170k ✅
Last year's supply of ~240k ✅
Government's housing supply target of 300k ❌🚕
But you all know it's not about volumes, right? No, we need to look at prices!

Now that the Supreme Court has run away from partisan gerrymandering, it’s time to fight on a state-by-state basis.

Here’s a long list of actions for individual states. I’ll add to it as more ideas come up.

First, the categories of actions you can take:
1) Ballot-initiative process: push for independent commissions.

2) Friendly state courts: file lawsuits.

3) Public-comment period on redistricting: use it in 2021 to speak for your community of interest. Use data to analyze/offer maps.

4) Everywhere: write your paper.
5) Disrupt single-party control by flipping a legislature or breaking its supermajority.

6) Support local reformers: Common Cause, League of Women Voters, or local organizations.

7) Everywhere: help gather data & become a redistricting tech maven! OpenPrecincts.org

When ICWA, the Indian Child Welfare Act, was created 1/3 of all Native children had been adopted out of their tribe & were raised by White families. ICWA says when a Native child is up for adoption family members, tribal members or Native homes are prioritized for placement
Even with ICWA in place Native kids are disproportionately separated from their families, tribes and culture. Today, over half of US states are out of compliance.
