1. Once upon a time, America was a land of Jeffersonian yeoman farmers, dutifully tending to their land in ruddy good humor. And it was good. But then, the evil Dr. Yakub grew jealous of the stout yeomanry.
2. He went to his island laboratory to create an enemy for the Americans, that would destroy their utopia. After many trials and errors, he finally emerged from his cave with a weapon against the yeomanry: the Robber Barons.
3. The Robber Barons set to monopolizing the industry of the country, immiserating the yeomen and importing vast number of immigrants to work in their dark, satanic mills. Their rule seemed unbreakable until the emergence of a new group of Americans: the Progressives.
4. The Progressives came from the universities, armed with powerful knowledge and driven by a desire to re-establish the American utopia. With regulations and reforms they broke the power of the Robber Barons and cast them into perdition. On his island, Dr. Yakub fumed.
5. Dr. Yakub set back to work undermining the new American producerist utopia. He toiled in his lab while the country grew rich and egalitarian. Finally, after decades of experimentation and failure, the evil Dr. Yakub unleashed his deadliest weapon yet: Neoliberalism.
6. Dr. Yakub's dark invention quickly remonopolized and financialized the economy, scattering the yeomanry and filling their hearts with despair. Until another hero, gifted with the Wisdom of the Regulatory State, arose to challenge it...
