Senator @brianschatz says out loud what many of us have been thinking.

Why didn’t Mueller subpoena taxes, documents, and pursue these obvious leads? Is it all just spun off to SDNY and under Barr?

The House should hear from Rosenstein.
To be clear, @RodRosenstein, as a growing list of felonies start becoming clear, some of them happened on your watch as Acting AG.
You seem to have kept Mueller’s investigation too narrow.

You have a lot questions to answer.
@RodRosenstein See this @just_security timeline and note how much of this Ukraine activity happened while Rosenstein was Acting AG from May 2017 to Nov. 2018, and he continued as DAG through April 2019.

At the Convention, George Mason (who introduced the term “high crimes and misdemeanors”) explained that a president should be impeached if he “procured his appointment” by corrupting the “electors."

And of course, this corruption would happen in an election year.
See @FOBowman3 excellent new book, "High Crimes and Misdemeanors" p. 304.
His history (unlike Yoo's magic projections) shows a list of reasons Founders would've cited for election-year high crimes.
Their paradigmatic high crime would be abuse of the office to get re-elected.
@FOBowman3 Gouverneur Morris was one of the Framers who wanted a powerful president.
But he also wanted impeachment as a check on such power for “treachery, corrupting his electors, and incapacity.”

An election year offense.

Polling solidifies at over 50% for impeach/removal.

Nixon context: House voted to start impeachment inquiry (giving Judiciary Committee subpoena power) in Feb 1974 when only 38% favored impeachment.

1. What's stopping @RepJerryNadler from issuing #Mueller subpoena?
Is it #ExecutivePrivilege? The idea that there is executive privilege over Mueller testifying in congress is beyond absurd. Executive privilege is to protect Presidential communications with advisers.
2. This was a criminal probe of the President. There is no possibility that Executive Privilege attached especially where it's likely he took the 5th. This is a red herring.
3. Grand Jury Rule 6(e)? Barr can easily obtain a waiver from Beryl Howell the DC chief judge. Again nonesense.
National Security? Sure, that's what redactions are for.
