Polling solidifies at over 50% for impeach/removal.

Nixon context: House voted to start impeachment inquiry (giving Judiciary Committee subpoena power) in Feb 1974 when only 38% favored impeachment.

@ameliatd shows polling did not average over 50% until May/June 1974...

Suggests that there is a doctrine of "Temporary Presidential Immunity."

It's obviously worth noting that Clinton v. Jones rejected a president's "temporary" civil immunity for Jones's civil suit for pre-presidency actions.
@ManhattanDA 3/ Consovoy is struggling to distinguish this case from US v. Nixon's Oval Office tapes.
He says the Oval Office tapes subpoena were of a 3d party.

Puzzling: this Mazars subpoena is just as much a 3d party.

And the judges note that the Nixon tapes were... the Nixon tapes.

On competitor standing:

Trump "considers himself to be in the hospitality business."
Trump tweeted, "I announced that I would be willing to do it at no cost." He is running Trump Org.

Take judicial notice.
"I announced that I would be willing to do it at NO PROFIT."

Trump stated he still runs Trump Org.
Even if there is no damage to competitors from the G7 debacle now that it was cancelled, it is evidence of the Emoluments machine Trump is running himself.

At the Convention, George Mason (who introduced the term “high crimes and misdemeanors”) explained that a president should be impeached if he “procured his appointment” by corrupting the “electors."

And of course, this corruption would happen in an election year.
See @FOBowman3 excellent new book, "High Crimes and Misdemeanors" p. 304.
His history (unlike Yoo's magic projections) shows a list of reasons Founders would've cited for election-year high crimes.
Their paradigmatic high crime would be abuse of the office to get re-elected.
@FOBowman3 Gouverneur Morris was one of the Framers who wanted a powerful president.
But he also wanted impeachment as a check on such power for “treachery, corrupting his electors, and incapacity.”

***Corrupting electors.***
An election year offense.

It's time I had my say about #Impeachment, DJT's obstructionistic tactics, and @SpeakerPelosi's not pushing for an inquiry yet.

When AG Barr released the redacted version of the report to Congress, he did *not* include any of the underlying documents on which Mueller relied.

Just like a lawsuit, a case has to be built based on facts and evidence. Both the Intelligence Committee and the Judiciary Committee have been working their way through the system, including voting to hold AG Barr in Contempt of Congress. DJT has been fighting them in court.

Meanwhile, the Ways and Means Committee has also been working on getting DJT's tax returns. One of the Committees has also been working on getting records subpoenaed from DJT's financial management firm and from Deutche Bank, known for Russian money laundering.

A note on #impeachment -

In a court of law, under non-presidential circumstances, impeachment is a tool litigation attorneys use to discredit the opposing side's witnesses at trial. When said witness takes the stand under oath attys. present evidence contrary to what the witness
claims. This weakens the other side's case by discrediting impeached witnesses's testimony. Once a witness has been impeached - by presentment of inconsistent testimony - the judge/jury can no longer use the impeached witnesses's testimony in reaching a verdict.
Simply put, they aren't trustworthy. In the case of Presidential impeachment that broad definition of impeachment applies, but the impeachment tool is used for a very different purpose. Under the Constitution, a sitting President cannot be tried in a court of law for anything.

Now, such a clause would prohibit the President from granting or withholding an office based on racial identity, and, in like vein, would prohibit the Senate from withholding consent to a nomination, or granting it, on the basis of racial identity.
