JUST IN: Judge Howell says DOJ improperly redacted a recent filing to prohibit the House from learning the identities of two witnesses who *didn't* testify to the grand jury.

She also adds this curious bit questioning why Mueller didn't seek to subpoena these unnamed witnesses.
Howell also notes that DOJ's claim -- that revealing the identities of people who didn't testify to the grand jury would help the House identify who did -- omits the fact that DOJ willingly revealed that they considered but did not subpoena Trump.
JUST IN: DOJ confirms that Don MCGAHN and Donald Trump Jr. did not testify before the Mueller grand jury. It’s part of a newly unredacted line in a recent filing ordered up by Judge Howell in DC federal court:

NEWS: Gordon SONDLAND will break sharply from Trump during his testimony today, criticizing the decision to run Ukraine policy through GIULIANI and saying military aid to Ukraine should not have been withheld for any reason.
Sondland said he contacted Giuliani anyway at Trump’s direction, and that Rudy drew a direct link between scheduling a White House visit for Ukraine’s newly elected president and demands that Ukraine prioritize an investigation involving former Biden, and one re: 2016 election

Long gone now are allegations of any quid pro quo with Zelensky. That ship sailed when the transcript of Trump’s call with the Ukrainian leader offered no evidence that the president was offering military aid as a carrot, which was the initial allegation.
Now Democrats insist that no quid pro quo is needed to prove a high crime or misdemeanor occurred during the phone call. Instead, they insist, this is a question of an illegal campaign contribution.
