Look I get loving your fave, but if you are seriously saying, "If my dude who is currently polling at an avg of 15% isn't the nominee I will not vote for anyone else, so enjoy Trump 2020," you're a monster who is willing to sacrifice the poor & marginalized for your hissy fit.
Taking an uncompromising stand for your principles only makes you a hero if you're not leveraging the well-being of those w/ less advantages than you to make your point. People have died b/c of this administration. If you stay home in 2020 you're willingly enabling more.
At least two of the Democratic candidates make me want to claw my own eyes out. If either is the nominee I will be furious. But I'll still vote for them in the general b/c I'm not so up my own ass that I don't see that staying home will literally KILL PEOPLE if Trumps wins.
This is not a fucking intellectual exercise. White supremacists are running our country. They'll strip away every right, every protection, for anyone that doesn't think or look like them. (Not to mention hasten the destruction of our planet.) Be a decent human being & fight it.
The responsibility of every voter, imo, is to cast the vote that will do the greatest amount of good for the greatest number of people who need it the most. If you can vote, if you are someone who will survive no matter what, use your privilege help others, not your ego.
People stayed home on principle in 2016. We didn't get change. We didn't get a revolution. We got fascists. We got concentration camps. We got increased hate crimes. We got environmental protections stripped. We got a rapist on the Supreme Court. WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT AGAIN?
Show me how not voting & protest votes in 2016 helped anyone. Show me how people who have suffered b/c of Trump since 2016 matter less than your amorphous someday end game. You have the evidence of what these choices do. Is it what you wanted? You'll do it again? Shame on you.
