2n claim that doesn’t exist. Why? For starters if they agree to “give up” what they never had in the first place, they create a whole body of speculative literature that will claim that waqf did in fact have a claim. This leads to two sets of narratives a) a Hindu land grab and
3n b) that the temple (if and when built) was legally untenable and based on extortion. Essentially it delegitimises the entire litigation process. What’s worse is they are now demanding public funds for mosque upkeep as part of this settlement. This has two further disastrous..
4n consequences. a) it reinforces the narrative that waqf had a claim that was traded in and b) sets a bad precedent legally where a squatter can demand compensation for vacating land that they never owned. For example say you are illegally occupying someone else’s land ...
5n you know after 30-40 years of litigation you’re going to lose. The longer you wait the less you’re going to get. So you negotiate a deal where the current landlord must pay for your other 3 flats to be renovated and maintained in perpetuity to allow you to vacate his property
6n this is nothing short of extortion & modern jaziya, because remember the fact you agree to the principle of compensation means you concede the fact the other party has a claim. To sum up, there must be NO MEDIATION and one MUST INSIST ON A HUDGEMENT BASED ON MERITS OF THE CASE
7n Clearly the mediators are either genuinely stupid or genuinely malign or a mix of both. Either way nothing good can come of their efforts.
8n so the Sunni waqf offer MUST BE REJECTED IN TOTO. No part of it must be entertained, because if you cede even an inch, you may win the Ram Mandir case but you lose the narrative. But then as we know that’s the RWs forte ... losing the narrative
