This year, the "Google Phone" is in every US carrier store, so it's easier than ever to buy.

Problem is, it's not as easy to recommend.

Review:
You've heard it already by now: battery life is the big killer here, with the lack of an ultrawide camera a close second.

But the #Pixel4 is a confusing phone beyond that.
The limited and finicky hand-wave controls remind me of the LG G8 (which is not a good thing) and while face unlock is fast, the omission of the old reliable -and more useful- fingerprint sensor stings. Especially since many banking apps still don't work with face unlock.
The phone has real wins in its fluidity, design and the usual 3 years of updates, etc. But these are countered by a meager 64GB of storage -- which is no longer augmented by unlimited original quality Photos backup.
Bottom line: at $799 it's not competitive, when the iPhone 11 starts at $699, the OnePlus 7T starts at $599, and the excellent Pixel 3a starts at $399.

Wait for the inevitable discounts. And get the bigger one.
