Looks like the NBA has new heights and weights up, supposedly using more accurate measurements. The average player got half an inch shorter and 3 points lighter, as compared with how they were listed last season. on.nba.com/2p5cJYTx
Here are the guys who shrunk by 2 inches vs. how they were listed last season. (Nobody yet seems to have shrunk by *more* than 2 inches.) Notables: Beal, Ayton, Mitchell, Ingram, Klay.
Here are the guys who got taller, including LeBron and Durant. Ibaka grew 2 inches. Caveat to all of this: this data just went up today and sometimes newly-posted data has funky things going on with it!

One good reason is that they're reasonably predictive of who wins the primary. About 50-60% of national poll leaders at this point in the campaign won.
Another good reason is that they're more reflective of Democratic voters overall, who are 40% nonwhite, than Iowa and New Hampshire, which are very white. If the media truly gave SC/NV coequal billing with IA/NH, that would obviate the need somewhat, but they don't.
p.s. If you look at *all 4* early states as a group, they look quite similar to national polls, especially if you weight by the number of voters or delegates they have. Buttigieg maybe a hair stronger in the early states (although weak in SC) but pretty minor differences overall.

...so far, we've been making only very conservative, provisional adjustments based on how teams have been playing so far this season. In about ~1 week, we'll introduce a full-fledged update based on 2019-20 RAPTOR ratings to date, which should shake things up a bit.
Teams on track to get a boost include UTA, ATL, BOS, PHI, LAC and TOR. What about PHX, MIN and DAL? They've played well but RAPTOR was quite bullish on them to begin with so they won't get much *further* increase.

Teams whose prospects may decline include GSW, DEN, SAC and IND.

At some point you have to ask:
1) Is 41-42% approval enough for Trump to win re-election?
2) If not, then what are the scenarios under which his approval becomes meaningfully higher, given that little seems to move his numbers?
p.s. 1) is not meant as a rhetorical question.

He won in 2016 despite being equally if not more unpopular based on a combination of a) the Electoral College; b) voters really disliking HRC also; c) voters who disliked both HRC & Trump voting Trump; d) polls being slightly off.

I have a WIP I need to finish, so logically I must start a new #sheith thread

I guess it *could* be a S8 fix it of sorts, but I'm ignoring both the epilogue and Allura dying, so.... more canon-divergent. Here there be angst, but there'll be a happy ending, I promise.
After Keith and the other paladins fall from the sky, Shiro doesn't leave the hospital for days. He checks in on all of them, of course, but he stays with Keith. He attends meetings remotely, answers questions, and writes his upcoming speech, all from Keith's bedside.
It's hard to see him like this, so pale and still, but it would be even harder to /not/ be there. As the other paladins wake up, one by one, Shiro is happy for them, but becomes quietly more and more worried about Keith, who hasn't stirred.

Just finished reading 'Psychology of the Stock Market' published in 1912. 📔

In hindsight, this is a mandatory read for all crypto investors.

“Cover up, woman!” The pseudo-feminist modesty police reminds me of the religious fundamentalist crowd. Both want to shame you, both claim they’re doing it for your own good.
Policing what a woman wears and what she looks like, whether you're demanding that she cover up or expose more of herself, comes down to how we generally view women's bodies — as dangerous, and in need of being controlled. Men do it to women, women do it to other women.
According to pseudo-feminist, weirdly fundamentalist logic, in order to be "taken seriously" a woman must essentially become a disembodied spirit. Only then can she be appreciated "for her intelligence" or "as a human being." Having a body, making *decisions* wrt your body = bad.
