For us to create a peaceful and just America I suggest using Dr. King’s six principles of non-violence that follow
PRINCIPLE ONE:
Nonviolence is a way of life for courageous people. It is active nonviolent resistance to evil. It is aggressive spiritually, mentally and emotionally.
PRINCIPLE TWO:
Nonviolence seeks to win friendship and understanding. The end result of nonviolence is redemption and reconciliation. The purpose of nonviolence is the creation of the Beloved Community.
PRINCIPLE THREE:
Nonviolence seeks to defeat injustice not people. Nonviolence recognizes that evildoers are also victims and are not evil people.The nonviolent resister seeks to defeat evil not people.
PRINCIPLE FOUR:
Nonviolence holds that suffering can educate and transform. Nonviolence accepts suffering without retaliation. Unearned suffering is redemptive and has tremendous educational and transforming possibilities.
PRINCIPLE FIVE:
Nonviolence chooses love instead of hate.Nonviolence resists violence of the spirit as well as the body. Nonviolent love is spontaneous, unmotivated, unselfish and creative.
PRINCIPLE SIX:
Nonviolence believes that the universe is on the side of justice. The nonviolent resister has deep faith that justice will eventually win. Nonviolence believes that God is a God of justice.

Sorry to be so partisan but I am so fucking mad

-Our Children are dying
-Our president is committing treason
-Our planet is on fire

REPUBLICANS ARE DOING NOTHING

If we don’t have an absolutely revolutionary turn out in 2020 our species will be extinct in 100 years
I want to be clear- the enemies here are the Republicans in the Senate, Congress and the White House that would rather listen to those that fund their campaigns and foreign governments than science or facts.
NOT the majority of Republicans, like my father formally was, who are mainly not in office and agree asking a foreign government to help in an election is wrong and listening to money rather than science is wrong as well.

I cried reading this.

The joy and excitement of moving into Harvard today was stolen from
my classmate Ismail B. Ajjawi.

When they arrived in the us and after examination of their social media— was deported for the political beliefs of friends they followed on social media.
It’s young and bright immigrants like Ismail that helped found the United States itself

Turning someone with so much potential to do good not only for the United States but the world because of their religion or political beliefs of those they follow is inherently anti-American.

Since 2014, the Centre has claimed that all families in the submergence zone have been rehabilitated. However, a letter from the chief secretary of Madhya Pradesh to the Narmada Control Authority in May 2019 said that at least 6k families still live in the submergence area. 2/9
The Centre ignored this & approved the Gujarat govt’s request to fill the dam to test its capacity. As the dam started to fill up and flood villages, the MP govt set up camps to assess the no. of people awaiting rehabilitation while the local authorities evacuated the people. 3/9

18 years ago, we were attacked by Islamic extremists, bent on the destruction of our way of life, cheering as our brothers and sisters burned in fire, cheering louder as the buildings crumbled, taking even more to their deaths.

We do NOT have to tiptoe around the facts. We do NOT have to "watch our language". Speak up and tell the truth. These extremists were screaming "Death to America", calling us "The Great Satan", and saying we need to "convert or be destroyed" for decades leading up to 9-11.

First off violent movements are defined in WCRW as those in which 1000 or more battle deaths between armed combatants. This not only excludes every environmental action ever described as 'violent' but also armed groups like the Zapatistas & even Red Army Faction /3
