3/7The current surge of climate momentum is operating within the capitalist framework having its financial crisis mode. The cyclical crisis is unavoidable and it must be dealt with financial solutions.
4/7Traditionary, such solutions have been wars, colonial policies, austerities, neoliberal banking reforms and so on. As we are aware, the wars aren’t going well. Colonial policies are also stalling because of rising strength of the “enemy countries”.
5/7The call for green capitalism is a recalibration of the industries which requires an enormous capital. This is being used to tackle the crisis of capitalism.
6/7Cory’s work details how the revitalization of capitalism by its greening is being done through the network of states, NGOs, media and etc. It details how none of the “solution” is meant to solve the climate crisis.
7/7The Greta Thunberg phenomenon is an extremely good example in illustrating how such a momentum is formed and is affecting the social-scape. While her slogans are plausible and moving, they are also vague enough to accommodate those ineffective corporate “solutions”.
