It’s not merely that some people can not afford pharmaceuticals, they are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain, even with an adequate income.

People are dying, and will continue to suffer ill health and possible death from drug shortages.

The US is buying Canadian drug supply in bulk because Canadian drug prices are significantly lower than in US.
Bernie Sanders promotes this policy and led a bus load of Americans to buy insulin in July 2019.

Our very own resident progressive populists made pharmaceuticals a huge issue during campaigning. Blaming the difficultly on the cost of medication vs the bulk purchase of pharmaceuticals by US states, inspired by populist rhetoric.

But look closer. It’s already been addressed. Healthcare is provincial purview, not federal. That means pharmacare REQUIRES provincial buy in. No exceptions.
