Can I add my name to the chorus of voices (eg @guitarmoog) calling for the Lab and LD parties to work together. There should (in my view) be no promises of a coalition. But there should be a shared commitment to stop Johnson's agenda (on Brexit and beyond). 1/4
That only becomes possible if Johnson is denied a majority in the December GE. There are many seats in which there is only one realistic challenger to the Tories. That candidate should be supported by all. 2/4
And it becomes much easier if there is a common message. Johnson has sought to define Brexit. Make him defend his Brexit, his WA, his WAB. Point out the abiding no deal risk (it is still there...), and the economic and social damage his hard Brexit will create. 3/4
Try to resist the temptation to criticise each other. There are many obvious differences between Swinson and Corbyn, and many reasons to be sceptical about them both. But the clear and present danger is Johnson; and the opposition should relentlessly attack him. 4/4
Back in July, I said that Johnson wanted a pre-Brexit GE (see thread). He's got his wish. But, his Brexit is not undefined - the BP and the Opposition can attack his concrete, messy, Brexit. But... they will only win if they work together against him.
