Today's "impeachment" vote doesn't change anything because it's not to open an actual impeachment, only to codify the unprecedented sham we've seen for the last several weeks.

And it's politically dangerous for Democrats. The recent polls are bad and getting worse for them...
Actual pollsters know Americans do not like to shutdown investigations and are typically willing to let them go forward. But the Suffolk Poll for instance that gave three choices bodes badly. The initial sting has worn off and voters won't support his removal on this narrative.
The New York Times Upshot / Siena College 2020 Battleground Polls are perfect examples. Americans are inclined to allow investigations, that's true of more than just this instance. A slim plurality in Florida supports a probe, but a strong majority opposes impeachment/removal.
