It’s really extraordinary how so little has been done to protect our democracy from manipulation, even as Parliament has set out the threat.

And all this, whilst “the will of the people” continues to be a refrain trumpeted cynically and deliberately by those who have the power and responsibility to initiate and take steps to safeguard the fragility and vulnerability of our democracy.

Britain feels like it’s not even making an attempt to paper over the cracks exposed in our democracy.

Cracks and concerns that need serious exposure on newspaper front pages and prime time news, day after day until action is taken.

Also, over on WhatsApp - a dirty social media campaign has begun, targeting Indian origin voters. It’s anonymous, divisive, misinformed propaganda and it relies on being forwarded. It’s a bad sign of what’s to come.
