There are some things you know.

Labour will not win this election. And if the Tories win we will leave the European Union in the terms of Boris Johnson's agreement.

So what are the terms of Boris Johnson's agreement?
Complete rupture from Europe, but leaving Northern Ireland behind.

I know Englishmen find it hard enough to recognise Scotland as a separate nation, and Northern Ireland is another planet.

But these are part of your country, and in Johnson's deal they won't be any more.

And you're making no effort to expand people's mental horizon to encompass the extent of their own country.
Would you do that to Scotland? No. Wales? No.
But apparently Northern Ireland is sufficiently distant that Englishmen don't even register it as part of their country.

It's this whole island fetish. England is not an island. The United Kingdom is not an island.

There are two nations that the English nationalists have erased from their mind. Scotland and Northern Ireland.

English nationalists don't register Scotland as a nation either. In their head it's just Greater England.
But Northern Ireland they don't even give a fuck. Sign it away and let it go. Stick a border in the Irish Sea. It's only Greater England we care about.

English nationalists don't care about Northern Ireland. As far as they're even aware of it, it's just a problem. happy to let it go.
But Scotland they care about because is Scotland goes they know it would greatly diminish England.

The English nationalists of Brexit would feel the loss of Scotland in a way they just don't feel about Northern Ireland. They should because they're both part of their country. But they don't.
English nationalists only care about Scotland because it enhances England.

That's why the Brexiteer Tories are happy to split Northern Ireland from Britain but would never allow Scotland the same.

I don't think we should be putting borders anywhere. Partitioning ourselves for this Englishmen's obsession.

In Brexitmen's head, Scotland is not a country and never will be.
In Brexitmen's head Scotland is just a possession of England with some sheep and people in it.
