Interesting debate here between two of my favorite writers about whether Dems should be more centrist. I honestly have no idea who is right here.
My instinct here is that a bold, inspiring center-left candidate like Obama 2008 would be best, but Biden is just so uncharismatic and uninspiring that there's really no advantage to nominating him.

We went with the uninspiring blah center-left candidates in 2004 and 2016, and where did it get us? Might as well try a more lefty candidate who can whip up a crowd.
BUT, maybe this is an irresponsible and stupid viewpoint and Biden is the best shot at avoiding 4 more years of institutional and social chaos, weak destructive leadership, creeping fascism, and right-wing Supreme Court appointments.

Personally I think Warren is by far the most inspiring candidate (the only inspiring candidate, really), and her rise in the polls seemed to indicate that I wasn't alone. But if she ultimately can't convince primary voters to abandon Biden...so be it.
