BTW, Teachers do not earn $100,000 a year. Not many of them, anyway. Schools allocate $100,000 per teacher hired but many hire new teachers at ~ $50K and use the rest to run the school.
The UCP is short-changing Alberta's children. Next time they whinge about "Oh! we can't leave a debt to future generations!" point out that future generations will be poorly educated and that is worse.

I mean, you don't want to shout at old people... Well, actually, you really do. But you know you shouldn't. Because they're old. And kind of frail. Nothing really is gained by arguing. But they want to argue about it. They egg you on. They dare you to contradict them. 2/8
And you know they are so, so wrong. And you have piles of evidence, treaties, history, documentation, and you know they won't look at it or believe it because it doesn't fit their world view. And you know you should be nice. They will die sooner, rather than later... 3/8

So, the UCP are introducing a bill barring trespassers from suing landowners *retroactively*. First of all, retroactive laws tend to be suspect. Secondly, there is ONE GUY that this law was created for. ONE GUY. #ableg 1/9

In February, 2018, Ryan Watson trespassed on Eddie Maurice's land. Maurice shot twice and Watson was struck by a bullet. Watson was charged with trespassing, mischief and theft. All charges against Maurice were dropped. 2/9

Why is this news, you may ask... Well, it means that every time your doctor send you for a screening test - blood, urine, mammogram, colonoscopy, or for a diagnostic test - X-ray, ultrasound, MRI, CT-scan, etc., YOU will be paying directly for it.
Or perhaps you will be paying higher insurance premiums so they can pay for it on your behalf. In the US, insurers have a reputation for questioning and not covering some tests. The more tests you have, the more your premiums go up. Whether insurance covers them or not...

Change in the program at #yyccc : 2019 tax debate is up right now.
Option 1 for 2019. The takeaway wouldn't be much different than what was discussed last November during budget. A 3.45% hike. Average home would pay $105 more in 2019. Would result in close to 2% cut to commercial tax bills. #yyccc #yyc
Option 2 is a more dramatic shift to homeowners, and bigger break for business.

Average home would see $200 increase in 2019 (if no rebate is approved) #yyccc

Don't apologize for said comments

Don't get condemned by their leader

Get called "selfless" by said leader for resigning

And that all this leads to no deeper examination by media or their party
It's been a little over a week since Chirstchurch and a man likely to be the next premier is unable to condemn someone who said that Muslims are "force breeding" and committing mass rape?

How hard is it to ask a follow up question or for every single pundit to condemn him?
Instead we've been getting reporters framing these cases as candidates resigning due to "social media comments" rather than being explicit in why they were disqualified.

How hard is it to use the word "racist" without quotations?
