@Iioftia hey i just saw this because another former wonderstorm colleague sent it to me (who is also no longer with the company but isn't ready to talk about it yet) - in my announcement about my new job on my personal facebook i mentioned my exp. at wonderstorm being incredibly --
@Iioftia painful, and unfortunately i had not unfriended *one* person still close with aaron, who went through the likes on the post and aaron ended up reaching out to a friend confronting them for liking it. this is why i'm scared to talk publicly. lulu and i *want* to, and i can say --
@Iioftia lulu's experience was much more painful than mine, but witnessing that was one of the first things that made me feel a need to leave the company. it was just so much shutting women down, not taking women seriously, not listening to women, firing a woman and then shit talking her-
@Iioftia when i started there were four women there, 3 of us queer women, our voices were not heard when it came to discussions of women, discussions of lgbtq+ characters and themes, and sometimes even jokes were made in response to concerns--
@Iioftia the men at the top constantly talked about how awful riot was but then treated women at the company like jokes, similar to so much of the behavior i've heard and read about from riot reports. it was really the worst i've ever felt at a job, ever--
@Iioftia i want to make public tweets about this because i have talked to MANY people who've had similar experiences with aaron, men and women alike, but i'm genuinely scared they're going to attempt to take me to court for defamation or something. --
@Iioftia the general feeling was always... this is aarons company, aarons show, aarons stories to tell (yes, even the ones about women, POC, and lgbtq+ characters), and if you didn't agree you were constantly at risk.--
@Iioftia when i quit i made my reasons very clear, that wonderstorm was not a healthy working place for women. the day i left, aaron had lulu post a "thank you danika" post on the TDP accounts to capitalize on the hashtag the fans made.. i was SO UPSET about that--
@Iioftia lulu removed the post almost immediately and .. her and the writing team got YELLED at for it. i reached out to aaron expressing how inappropriate doing something like that was knowing WHY i left, but people still got in trouble for respecting me and removing it.--
@Iioftia there are so many things that happened there that people would just be like "what the fuck" and aaron would deny up and down because he was always denying he treated anyone bad, denying that events happened, just straight up gaslighting us so often. -
@Iioftia hopefully one day i can go public with the support of the people no longer there AND the people who've stuck around despite all this, but for right now i pretty much only feel safe replying to stuff, and even now i am pretty afraid something's gonna happen as a result of this.
