A very large segment of American voters are legal immigrants or have family that immigrated within a few generations. Do you have any idea the message you send to those voters by suggesting they are the problem and you don’t want more people like them ruining America?
It’s simply untrue that legal immigrants are all liberal or even mostly liberal.
Many of those people happen to be more conservative and closer aligned to Republican values than other Americans, but you really think they will want to vote for people who pander to that message?

And this is how being anti-immigrant because they vote for Democrats becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Then those immigrants feel like they have no choice but to vote for Dems rather than vote for or with people who hate them, regardless of their actual views on issues.
