Periodic reminder that I will support any Dem candidate for president. But just like anyone else, I am more enthusiastic about some candidates than others, some points of view rather than others, some programs rather than others. Primaries let us debate those things.
The candidates I am most enthusiastic about include (as they have for a while) Warren, Harris, Klobuchar, Booker, and Castro. I'm less enthusiastic about Pete but see some aspects of his candidacy that are energizing. Least enthusiastic about Biden and Bernie.
But all are a million times better than Trump. And once we zero in on one or two then we need to focus on how to ensure they are the best possible candidate--through selection of the right VP, evolution of policy positions, strategies, etc.
(For example, were Biden to say "I'm not running in 2024. I see this as a time of national emergency and want to help heal us. But I will fill my administration with next generation leaders starting with my VP choice and anticipated successor, Kamala Harris...
...and I will bring my party together by including representatives of all parts of the party and future leaders in the cabinet." ...then I would be more enthusiastic and think he would have a better chance winning. But again, this is the personal view of just one voter.
Everybody has their own approaches. I just thought I'd share some of my thoughts here. As one does.
