Randy Credico is taking the stand in the Roger Stone trial. Prosecutors want to portray him as a victim of Stone's harassment. Here's Credico's email to me last year when I was reporting on text messages that undercut Credico's denials that was giving Stone info abt WikiLeaks.

Fiona Hill gave surprisingly scathing testimony about Christopher Steele and the dossier.

She said she thinks Steele was targeted with Russian disinfo, which he was vulnerable to because he was so eager to "drum up business." dailycaller.com/2019/11/08/fio…
She said she "almost fell over" when she learned Steele was the author.

She also said that Steele should not have been involved in gathering politically-charged dirt, and that the dossier unfairly put a cloud over Trump.
On Hill's comments about Steele trying to drum up business:

Jonathan Winer, a longtime John Kerry guy, set up business meetings for Steele when he was at the State Department. Winer is the same guy who set up the Steele meeting with Kathleen Kavalec on Oct. 11, 2016.

News outlets are dramatically overstating what Rick Gates said about Manafort's theory that Ukraine was behind email hacks. It's completely and entirely possible that Manafort seeded that false theory w/ Trump, but Gates did not tell that to special counsel. Here's what he said:
WaPo's headline is a sample of how that Gates passage is being inaccurately reported.
NYT's headline is not as dramatic, but still promotes the idea that Manafort was "pushing" the Ukraine theory. But Gates doesn't give any detail about who all Manafort was sharing this theory with, or how often he brought it up. Did he mention it once in passing, or more often?

Timothy Morrison told Congress he was not concerned about anything illegal on the Trump-Zelensky call, and that he did not believe that Ukraine was aware that military aid was being withheld prior to Aug. 28 report in Politico. dailycaller.com/2019/10/31/tim…
Morrison's testimony, reviewed by @dailycaller, is in contrast with the other WH official who was on the call. Lt Col Vindman said yesterday that he was concerned about the call, and reported it to NSC lawyers.
Morrison also contacted NSC counsel, but out of concern that a transcript of the call would leak and damage US-Ukraine relations.

We're back in federal court to tweet updates from Day 4 of Roger Stone's trial.

(Jury selection was Monday, today is 3rd day of evidence presented in the case.)

Stone is charged with making false statements to Congress, obstructing, & threatening a witness.
Today we'll hear part 2 of testimony from Randy Credico, the federal witness Roger Stone is accused of threatening. Stone allegedly threatened Credico with statements such as "prepare to die" and threatened to kidnap his service dog, Bianca.
Stone is wearing a gray suit jacket with a blue tie and a blue and white striped shirt. He's reading through documents.

Roger Stone is in the courthouse for the 4th day his trial. Jurors can cut the security line. But defendants and reporters can't. So I was just in line with Stone and his wife. That was a little bit awkward since he's barred from talking to press in the courthouse.
When the trial starts momentarily, prosecutor Aaron Zelinsky will complete his questioning of Randy Credico. Then the defense will cross examine Credico, and try to undermine his credibility. Maybe the riskiest moment of the trial for the gov, since Credico is no ideal witness.
Before bringing in jurors, Judge Jackson addresses reporting on the jury. "It’s concerning to me because it’s not only inaccurate and irresponsible but it puts the safety of all the people associated with this case on both sides, including possibly members of the jury, at risk."

Thread about airplane creeps: I’m on a plane from a late-evening stopover from and was very tired and had a row to myself to sleep but couldn’t avoid noticing what was going on in the row behind me.
A man appearing in his late thirties was obviously delighted to be seated next to a teenager separated from the rest of her family. He started off by asking about her career plans and laughed when she said she wanted to be CEO and kept giving her ridiculous advice.
She was friendly and he seemed to take that as a welcome cue to get very familiar and started teasing her and kept saying that he wanted to take her out to eat, which she was ignoring. At this point I had to stay awake in case anything went further than that.
