Timothy Morrison told Congress he was not concerned about anything illegal on the Trump-Zelensky call, and that he did not believe that Ukraine was aware that military aid was being withheld prior to Aug. 28 report in Politico. dailycaller.com/2019/10/31/tim…
Morrison's testimony, reviewed by @dailycaller, is in contrast with the other WH official who was on the call. Lt Col Vindman said yesterday that he was concerned about the call, and reported it to NSC lawyers.
Morrison also contacted NSC counsel, but out of concern that a transcript of the call would leak and damage US-Ukraine relations.

News outlets are dramatically overstating what Rick Gates said about Manafort's theory that Ukraine was behind email hacks. It's completely and entirely possible that Manafort seeded that false theory w/ Trump, but Gates did not tell that to special counsel. Here's what he said:
WaPo's headline is a sample of how that Gates passage is being inaccurately reported.
NYT's headline is not as dramatic, but still promotes the idea that Manafort was "pushing" the Ukraine theory. But Gates doesn't give any detail about who all Manafort was sharing this theory with, or how often he brought it up. Did he mention it once in passing, or more often?

Please understand: Trump's #Ukraine scandal is about #Russia. Russia's been trying to keep its former colony under its thumb—thru propaganda, corruption, even war. Aid to Ukraine is by definition fighting Russian aggression, which has spread to US elections. So it's OUR fight too
What makes Trump's scheme so egregious isn't just trading aid for political favors—which he scandalously did. The impeachable scandal is a US pres undermining US efforts to counter a foe actively harming US; telling Putin his int'l lawlessness spree can stand in Ukraine & here.
US military aid to Ukraine isn't altruism. Russia attacked US. Keeping Russia at bay is OUR fight. Trump undermined that. If undermining US security isn't an impeachable offense—nothing is. And we can kiss our constitution & democracy g'bye. That's what defending Trump now means.

Since late Tuesday the nation has been deafened by media outlets declaring that diplomat William Taylor provided “damning” congressional testimony involving President Trump’s actions toward Ukraine.
The New York Times, for example, produced this breathless headline: “Donald Trump’s Quid Pro Quo Is Now a Smoking Gun.” Evidently, the “reporters” responsible for this story failed to read Taylor’s opening statement.
