I see claims like this a lot, but has anyone actually fact checked it?

Spoiler: it's composed of half-truths, irrelevant examples and events that actually demonstrate that Corbyn was an IRA sympathiser. 1/12
Early Day Motion 28 does NOT mention the IRA.

The IRA have also never taken responsibility for these murders, hence Corbyn felt he could condemn this atrocity, without condemning the IRA. 2/12
There were 20+ EDMs in the 1990s condemning the IRA, Corbyn didn't sign any of them, here are a few examples. 3/12
The evidence for this appears to be this Irish Times article which mentions Ervine going to the Labour conference in 1994.

However, there is no evidence (that I've found) to suggest that he met with Corbyn ever, let alone 5 times, or that Corbyn ever met with Unionists. 4/12
This comes via Paisley's widow, who said the Rev said that Corbyn was 'couteous and polite', but that
"He didn't share his politics and he didn't approve of Jeremy Corbyn meeting Gerry Adams and Sinn Fein people when the IRA campaign was still going on."

Corbyn (in 84) had been targeted by a con-man, who chose marks with known IRA sympathies. It was Corbyn's aide and NOT Corbyn who gave the con-man who claimed to be an IRA bomber on the run £45, so the Times apologised for the mistake.
The event highlights his IRA sympathies 6/12
According to Corbyn he 'notified' the police.

However, detectives withdrew Corbyn's anonymity after the trial and said:
"It is cause for concern that people with important positions in their communities willingly helped a man they believed was an Irish terrorist"! 7/12
It comes from this sympathetic, one-sided mini-biography from the Irish Times.

I'd also like to add that Stalin liked Westerns, Hitler liked dogs & Genghis Khan liked horse-riding. Not sure how any of this disproves Corbyn's IRA sympathies? 8/12
Corbyn first met Adams in July 83, weeks after becoming an MP, to the shock and horror of most people.

But that was not for lack of trying, he had been trying since at least 1982 to meet the IRA/Sinn Fein.

Does this disprove his IRA sympathies? No. 9/12
Corbyn did campaign for the Guildford 4 & Bloody Sunday (with Sinn Fein).
Patrick Maguire a victim of injustice:
'the police & the British legal system failed us all... if there had been no IRA bombing campaign in Britain, there would have been no miscarriages of justice.' 10/12
Corbyn nearly derailed the peace process by inviting Adams to Parliament in Sep 96

The reason why this was before the permanent ceasefire, was because the IRA had broken the previous one, and were on a bombing campaign!
See this thread/s 11/12
Clinton met him during the 1st ceasefire as did many others.

He did not meet with Adams while the IRA were actively murdering British men, women & children, only Corbyn did that year after year, to the detriment of the peace process. 12/12
