I've been led to believe this is an impossible dream, but wouldn't it make sense for other House committees to contribute to the impeachment inquiry in their areas of jurisdiction?
That is, Government Oversight should report on diversion of taxpayer funds to the Trump Org, Energy and Commerce on the intervention in the Time Warner/ATT merger, Foreign Affairs on foreign emoluments, Homeland Security on the response to Hurricane Maria, etc.
In the 1970s the Democrats running impeachment steered clear of the illegal bombing in Cambodia to keep Republicans who I guess liked bombing Cambodia on their side, but in 2019 they don’t have any Republicans on side anyway so why not make a thorough case for history?
The response to Hurricane Maria, for instance, hasn’t been investigated by any part of the govt even though there’s a death toll in the thousands. Looking into it would address a real injustice, and there’s at least a chance they might learn something that changes the DC dynamic.
