1. Staying Power 4. Gal.6:9 KJV - ‘’and let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.’’ We have emphasized that we cannot see the fulfilment of God’s promises without staying power. #Persistence
2. Heb. 10: 35-36- ‘’therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise’’. The fulfilment of the Promise requires Confidence and Endurance. #Persistence
3. Just as we have seen that we need Faith and Patience to see the fulfilment of Gods promises in Heb. 6:12 NKJV- ‘’that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.’’ #Persistence
4. We previously discussed 5 ways to develop persistence i.e. Staying Power, today we move on to the 6th point; ”don’t compromise you faith in God, hold on strong to your values as a Christian”. #Persistence
5. We have a good biblical example of this in the book of Daniel. Three young captives of war who were brilliant and being groomed for leadership refused to compromise. A conversation between them and the King is detailed in Dan.3:15-18. #Persistence
6. If you are going to last to see the fulfilment of God’s promises, you will need to hold on to a deep conviction about God. If you don’t give in on the small issues & palliatives rejecting Satan’s alternatives, you will prove God and He will come through for you. #Persistence
7. You will have to take a strong stand against mammon to see the fulfilment of Gods promises. These young men said to the King, ‘’we will not bow to your idols, our God is able to save us & even if He doesn’t, we will not bow. In other words, we will not be bought. #Persistence
8. We have an exemplary Faith to emulate today because some people refused to compromise. We must not fail God. (Heb.11:35-40) #Persistence
9. It is a dangerous thing when a Christian does not fully trust God. An example was in the case of King Saul. Saul obeyed God halfway and lost his position as a result. He resorted to consulting witches. #Persistence
10. You need to fully trust God. If you want to last, you cannot mix God with anything else. Put God first, have an unshakeable trust in God. This Faith will not fail in our hands, God’s program will not fail in our hands. #Persistence
11. The next point in developing staying power is to ”align with Gods timing”. Hab. 2:2-3. God lives in a dimension of timelessness, time is a function of our own dimension so we need to align with God’s timing. #Persistence
12. I learnt something profound about God’s perspective on making progress in Num. 9:18-23, the Israelites only moved at God’s command. Sometimes they were in one place for a month! Learning to wait till God says move is progress. #Persistence
13. Sometimes as a Christian, you may feel like you are not making progress especially when you compare yourself with other people, remember that your journey is not their journey. #Persistence
14. When you align with God, things can happen for you very quickly when it’s time. Your progress does not have to be visible to all. #Persistence
15. Say with me; in the name of Jesus, I declare that I am a child of God; I declare that I will serve God with no alternatives. I will not lose hope and courage. I will hold on to God’s promises till they are fulfilled in my life. #Persistence
