Bloomberg is a true billionaire and has always made his tax returns public. He's called on Trump, who has never made a dime on his own, to do the same.
Bloomberg may not be the guy the centrists want--or maybe he is, but this is a serious run.
I'm with Bernie on the subject of billionaires, but Bloomberg is no Tom Steyer. Dismissing his run would be an error. He's in it to win it and while I don't see him gaining too much traction, I do see him shaking up the center and reshuffling the deck. We shall see.

Had a fabulous weekend with my sister who was visiting from out of state. She brought dozens of family photos that she is cataloguing. My paternal great grandfather and grandfather were photographers. This is a photo of my grandmother at 17.
There are a series of photos of my grandmother as a teenaged flapper in the late 1920s. It's fantastic to have this history and pass it on to the next generation.
And then there are the fun pics. Me with two of my nieces and one of my nephews. This photo was part of a poster made for one of my niece's bat mitzvah. We had been baking cookies at my house and then the kids found some sunglasses...what a delight they were (and still are!!).

I worked my way through college, selling theatre tickets at Sub Zero on Park St, giving tuition, marking papers, writing copy at Grant and, in my final year, working nights at The Telegraph and attending classes during day. At age 20 I was paying income tax every month. 1/n
It was a normal thing to do for many of us at St Xavier's College those days. My batchmate Srikanto Acharya, now a famous singer, would perform at concerts with Nandini for a small fee. No student ever asked for any assistance from either college or Govt. Never. Ever. 2/n
There was a flipside though. Barring those who came from affluent families, we never aspired to spend years in academic pursuit. We needed jobs. Many of my friends came from families which expected financial support. Leisurely academics and campus politics was a luxury. 3/n

Mrs. Alexander is, of course, correct. Parents should not automatically assume that sending your daughters off to college is the thing to do, simply because that's what everybody else does.
Ideally, however, your daughter will have met and been courted by her future husband *before* she reaches college age. This was the case with our oldest daughter, who met her future husband at 15 and married him at 21.
