1/ There is not much anyone can do to improve the success rate for entrepreneurs. What one CAN do is increase the number of entrepreneurs by eliminating impediments. The success/failure rate will be unchanged, but the total number of entrepreneurs will increase.
2/ So the goal should be to increase the number of successful start ups by increasing the number of total start ups. If 1 in 10 successes, forget about trying to increase this to 1 in 5. That is not likely, but if one could increase start ups by 25%+ then we are on to something.
3/ Teaching entrepreneurship is difficult if not impossible. Unleashing the entrepreneurial spirit is more achievable. I am not against teaching but we will get further with incentives.

1/ Came into the office this AM to look at some reports. Google Adsense revenues for our e-commerce site range +/- 20% in rev/M while our internal banners range +/- 150%.
2/ Interestingly, the wide variation in rev/M for internal banners yields significantly more revenue. We have loser banners of course, they are eliminated from rotation but we stumble on smash hit banners (convex returns).
3/ Google has hundreds of thousands of banners to serve, we rotate 15-20 with 3 frequency options. Conclusion? The lack of variation or *smoothing* publisher returns likely means Google manipulates payouts to a target rather than give a set % of money they get from advertisers.

1/ As a marketer, I learned that the complex environment does not allow for us to PREDICT HITS. It is not a lack of data that causes failure. It is complexity itself that does not yield to predicting.
2/ This leaves one in a conundrum. In the US, 30,000 NEW PRODUCTS were brought to market in 2018. 95% failed. (Clayton Christensen stat) This failure rate comports with our tests since we test 500 new products a year and 1 in 20 are *hits*
3/ With a failure rate of 95%, what is the most sane response? Spend more money on prediction? Imbeciles do that. Hope 1 in 20 is convex enough to cover fail rate? Well, sort of. Our M.O has been to crush down the cost of failure- actually to break even or better even on failures

1) Important note. What governments/oligarchs want to do with social media is create what amounts to a Ministry of Truth. I am no fan of Zuckerberg, but AOC's questioning and his responses will lead to social media giants collaborate with government to *decide* what are *lies*.
2) And once *independent* panels DECIDE what are lies and what are Truths, dissent will be censored rather than merely be shadow banned. Guys like the corrupt Michael Shermer or fact checkers subsidized by think tanks will be used to decide Truth.
3) During times of dissent/revolution, social media will be shut down. Pay attention to the charges that *terrorists use social media* because the bottom up and viral nature of social media stands in opposition to the REAL roll media plays in society.

We have been able to confirm what other Members of Congress have heard & seen:

-no showers for over 40 days.
-lights are kept on all night & people are sleeping on concrete floors.
-some are complaining they have gone hungry.
Let’s be clear: decades of U.S. asylum & immigration law (upheld time and again by U.S. courts) protects children & families seeking safe haven in the United States. These laws comply with international law, treaties and agreements the U.S. has signed.
This framework has been upheld by past Republican & Democratic administrations, including during periods when the number of migrants coming to our southern border was 2 or 3x greater than it is now.
