People with mental retardation or/and autism are not crazy.

My brother (and only sibling) has both, so explaining my bowel problems to him took a while. After that, the first thing he asked was "did mom pass this on to you?".

It was difficult to not cry, as we needed to ask

1/
him to think about getting a colonoscopy himself.

Long story short, after carefully considering, he agreed to get one.

It will be after Nicolette's surgery removing a huge cyste, so next weekend is to explain that procedure.

2/
He will be even more worried than he is now (and that we are), so last weeks have been filled with informing the people around him (assisting him with hobbies, daily life, etc) what is going to take place soon so they can back us up.

3/
We will need to find a balance between how to dose the information and tell things soon enough so reality does not overtake us on the wrong side.

This apart from our own emotional rollercoaster.

4/
Luckily, a good friend and his wife were visiting my best friend (who emigrated to Switzerland) asking if we would take the road trip with them.

That gave us 4 days to sort of distract our minds before the upcoming very busy weeks.

5/
Past weeks already have been challenging because of mental energy depletion and arranging way to many things.

@NvCronenburg 's surgery is planned, tomorrow I will have final MRI scans and treatment plan finalising our agenda's for December and January.

6/
@NvCronenburg Hopefully surgery and radiation therapy recovery is not too bad, so we can visit the @NPORadio2 #Top2000 event being able to hi in person to @matijn, @carmenverheul, @NathanTamis and a few others on the 26th (1830-1930) and 31st (0700-0800).

7/
@NvCronenburg @NPORadio2 @matijn @carmenverheul @NathanTamis I will pin a new post with situation updates depending on time and energy levels.
