And the attacks on lawyers coming from the PM himself and the right wing commentators are crass and ignorant, not to mention insensitive given the two victims were attending a prison education conference which had deep connections with the legal community
Jack Merritt, one of the victims, was a human rights campaigner. He followed me on twitter and retweeted me recently. That his death is being used as an opportunity to bash and, ridiculously to blame, human rights lawyers is beyond crass
I know it is an irrelevance that he followed me but I hope it underscores the personal-feeling nature of these attacks and how wrong they are
