There are 37 songs in my daughter’s choir concert. Thirty 7. 30 seven. Thirty Seven.
There are 13 djembes lined up on stage. This is ominous.

This is a prophecy of Elementary School choir concerts (among other things).
Elementary school choir teachers: “It’s ok if you can’t change pitch, kids. Just yell.”
You can tell which of these kids learned to sing at church and which ones learned from music videos by whether they do praise hands or diva hands.
If you were worried about the ambition of future generations, fear not. Just listen to elementary school girls try to sing runs and hit those Mariah Carey notes.

We’ve moved onto the “Christmas from around The World” portion which, unfortunately, asks lots of white kids to have rhythm.
Of all the things prior generations accomplished that deserve our respect, sitting through their kids’ choir concerts without smartphones is at the top of the list. #greatestgeneration #BoomersAreOk
The choir director is using a recorder as a pitch pipe if you were wondering how things are going.
BIG key change in “Where Are You Christmas” for the diva quintet. Gotta respect the chutzpah.
POSITIVE: my daughter and crew just danced to a Leonard Cohen song.

NEGATIVE: it was the version sung by the pentatonix
They’re now singing a song called “Give us Peace” and I feel every word of it.
Now they’re wishing us all a swingin holiday. If they don’t wrap this shindig up quick I might start taking swings.
Ok, signing off. Gotta get my game face on to tell my daughter how much I loved the show!
