Justice IG: "Steele's reports played no role in the Crossfire Hurricane opening. " 
IG: The FBI gathered sufficient evidence to open its investigation on Trump aides George Papadopoulos, Carter Page, Mike Flynn and Paul Manafort. It "reasonably indicated activity constituting either a federal crime or a threat to national security, or both."
IG: "we did not find documentary or testimonial evidence that political bias or improper motivation" in the opening of the FBI's Russia investigation.
IG: The FBI " failed to inform Department officials of significant information that ... was inconsistent with, or undercut, the assertions contained in the FISA applications" for Carter Page.
IG: Christopher Steele's "dossier" on Trump and Russia "played a central and essential role" in the decision by the FBI and DOJ to seek FISA surveillance of Carter Page.
IG: The Justice Department provided a supplement to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court more than a year after the Carter Page wiretap expired, alerting the court to information that had not been included in its applications.
The DOJ Inspector General says the FBI wasn't using informants (CHSs) or undercovers (UCEs) to spy on the Trump campaign. It "found no evidence that the FBI placed any CHSs or UCEs within the Trump campaign or tasked any CHSs or UCEs to report on the Trump campaign."
