Thread on a Labour election video, a Harry Potter star, a Holocaust “joke” & gaslighting & abuse of Jews:

Sean Biggerstaff is an actor best known for his roles in the Harry Potter films. His most recent role however is in an election video for Labour.

Which makes perfect sense as soon as you look at his longstanding attitude and behaviour towards Jews.

In 2013 Sean felt it was acceptable to give this unsolicited response to a crass comment from Richard Dawkins.

As an equivalence, would he say “I was once accused of denial of the slave trade just for politely declining to have a plate of home-made jerk chicken” and expect people to laugh?

If he had said such an offensive thing about black people, how would decent people regard him?

That’s right: as an ignorant, offensive, stupid and racist fool.

But this was about Jews and the elimination of 6 million of us, so that’s ok. “Decent people” will embrace you and ask you to champion their cause.

Only they are not decent people, are they? Labour is not decent. It is institutionally racist towards Jews, and so Sean is welcome.

And Sean has Jews on his mind recently too. He wonders how you can talk about rich Jews without being accused of antisemitism.

I’ve never worried or needed to worry about that, have you?

And then he doubles down on the rich Jews thing having been given some sound advice.

Sean also enjoys gaslighting Jews and defending the indefensible. This is Sean’s comment on Corbyn’s “Zionists don’t do English irony” line.

Sean then abuses Jews who are actively combatting antisemitism by calling attention to it. Sean knows better than these Jews what is & isn’t antisemitism.

@leekern13 @TracyAnnO Sean can also be seen effectively accusing Jews of groupthink and retreat into the shtetl – which is gaslighting with a particularly nasty “Jews in the shtetl” element.

We're seeing more of this approach recently so Sean is right on the zeitgeist.

@leekern13 @TracyAnnO @chiefrabbi And finally, Sean heaps scorn on a group of prominent non-Jews who wrote to express their solidarity with beleaguered British Jews.

@leekern13 @TracyAnnO @chiefrabbi So, this is who Labour get to front one of their election videos. I mean, as casting goes it’s pretty much bang on. Racist fronts video for racist party.

All of this will be particularly distressing for @jk_rowling who has been a staunch and vocal ally to British Jews.

@leekern13 @TracyAnnO @chiefrabbi @jk_rowling JKR has taken the time to message me and others a number of times to speak of her concern and empathy for us. She is a fine friend of British Jews.

So for JKR to find that an actor who would likely be nowhere without the huge break that her Harry Potter films gave him....

@leekern13 @TracyAnnO @chiefrabbi @jk_rowling is part of the tidal wave of abusers taunting British Jews daily will be a blow to her that she does not deserve. She is obviously not responsible for his toxic views & behaviour but I know she will feel betrayed by Sean.
