What gets under our skin, besides the fact that the collective Left in the U.S. doesn’t seem willing to move on a concrete socioeconomic program, is that... the collective Left doesn’t have a concrete socioeconomic program, and thus isn’t oriented toward transformative solutions.

More insulting are those on the Left who actually have a loose idea of the types of institutions we’re supposed to develop to survive and present an alternative, but who refuse to support development of tools relevant for the digital age that could actually allow people to fight.

Since our org has been around, one of the darkest things we’ve observed has been the collective U.S. Left’s casual fixation on Left theory, news, entertainment, electoral politics, etc. as a source of hope juxtaposed next to serious neglect of transformative solutions + practice.

Leftists in other countries frequently show us that this is a very American thing.

Some of us joke that U.S. Leftists would rather throw money behind another podcast than something that would allow them to change their lives, but that would require them to fight in that process.

If the “Left” itself can’t even choose to break with paternalism, then our fate is sealed as a species.

We sit here as an org asking the collective Left to give us a chance to not only show the world that another way is possible, but to give the world tools to BUILD another way.

Humanity might not choose democracy. Humanity might not choose cooperation. Humanity might not choose life.

But we’re willing to fight to at least present humanity with the truth, and give them a glimpse into the kind of future we could build if guided by Left principles/values.

Presenting humanity with the truth at the level we’re talking about costs a lot of money. It just does.

Presenting humanity with the tools to change their present conditions also costs a lot of money, but not as much.

That is why most of our focus is on the latter right now.

At the very least, something like the @DualPowerApp would present poor and working-class people with the technological mechanisms they need to survive and organize themselves properly and safely as we plunge deeper into ecological collapse and instability.

Best case? #DualPower.

Comrades, our socioeconomic program and strategy have been endorsed by noteworthy revolutionaries, economists, academics, and organizers all around the world. Please give us a chance to move on them.
