Labour need to choose a leader who can appeal to the country at large, including non-Labour voters whose support will be absolutely crucial if they are ever to win elections again.

"New Labour" won 3 elections, and yet Blair seems to be vilified by many Labour members now. (Setting aside the Iraq War issue, I mean, which was unconscionable.)

So Labour has to make up its mind: is it a protest group whose main function is to wring its hands louder & louder as the Tories dismantle the welfare state, and tear up worker protections and human rights?
Or does it want to govern?
