1) Parliamentary question?
A single Senator can prevent or block any Bill from coming to the floor...correct? Republicans do it all the time. Has to do with cloture...

2) ...and filibuster rules.

McConnell has been sitting on hundreds of bills passed by the House.
So, is it possible for one or all Democratic Senators to block the impeachment in the Senate as a tactic to compel witnesses to appear (Bolton, Mulvaney, Pence, Pompeo, Barr)?...

3)...After voting to impeach in the House the Democrats will have played their hand and Republicans will be in control and able to have a sham trial to let Trump claim victory.

4) time, couldn't they delay the Senate Trial, keeping it on the front burner until witnesses are called or the court enforces subpoenas?
Holding Trump's feet to the fire, while the process stalls would not allow him to " move on" and claim exoneration. He will be "impeached"

5)...without the opportunity to have his sham trial, therefore, the cloud will hang over his head as he runs for reelection.
I think this tactic is the best path forward for Democrats. I wish they would consider this if it is even possible. END.
