NS currently in countries like Singapore, Israel, Switzerland etc but these are longer & military only programs.
Bhutan will have military component but more of youth skills up-gradation.
Around 13,000 to 12,000 youths per year coming to around quarter of a million in 20 yrs.

The main focus of the NS is on youth up-gradation and skilling as Bhutan is South Asia’s youngest country.
It cannot allow its limited manpower to be wasted.

The training will primarily target youths finishing class 12.
