Still no word on whether U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard will participate in today's impeachment vote since she skipped the morning proceedings. Her office says she's "in D.C.," but won't say whether she intends to participate. (Her office spokesman isn't answering his phone or email.)
Gabbard has been evasive about the whole thing since it began. She did introduce a resolution yesterday calling for censure of President Donald Trump. Unfortunately, the language hasn't been posted to Congress.gov yet. congress.gov/bill/116th-con
Apparently, Gabbard said she was still undecided. At least that's what she told a crowd at a campaign event in S.C. abcnews.go.com/Politics/rep-t…
I've repeatedly her office and her campaign for comment on the articles of impeachment for over a week now.

What was I met with?

**SILENCE**
This is me literally stalking the halls (and tunnels) of Congress looking for U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard
UPDATE: Went to her office in Longworth. The staff there now says they saw her this morning. One even said she gave her hug. (Still doesn’t explain why she skipped all the early votes.)
I asked for a copy of the censure resolution she dropped yesterday since it’s not posted online yet. The response? “We don’t have it.”
I kept trying to find out if Gabbard planned to participate in today's vote. All I wanted was a "yes" or "no" answer. All I got was shoulder shrugs.

They. Don't. Know.
UPDATE UPDATE: Ran into Rep. Gabbard's comms director in the tunnel between Longworth and the capitol. Like everyone else I've talked to, he says he has NO IDEA if Gabbard will vote today, much less how she'll vote.

(Unlike the other staff, he said he hasn't seen her today.)
These are not hard questions. I'm just trying to find out if a sitting congresswoman who represents a district that I cover will take part in a historic vote to impeach a sitting president.

The fact that I can't get a "yes" or "no" answer is, to say the least, astounding.
Equally as befuddling is the fact her office can't provide me with a copy of a censure resolution she introduced.

Again, this is a simple, straight-forward request.

(Obvi keeping my 🤞 they can find a copy before the day is over.)
This might be as good a time as ever to highlight the fact that U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard has missed nearly 90 percent of her votes since October, according to data compiled by @govtrack govtrack.us/congress/membe…
@govtrack Of course, she is running for president. She's even rented a place in New Hampshire so she can focus on her campaign. Meanwhile, she continues to collect a salary of $174,000 to represent Hawaii
@govtrack But back to the matter at hand...
@govtrack Her comms director did tell me he's been talking to Gabbard via phone today. He said they were going over he merits of the Democrat's case against Trump.

Whether that means she's planning to cast a vote one way or the other we'll have to wait and see.
@govtrack Here's the thing: I've traveled all across the country to track down Tulsi Gabbard so searching for her in the halls of the U.S. Capitol is nothing new
@govtrack There was that time I braved the North Dakota winter civilbeat.org/2016/12/gabbar…
@govtrack There was that weekend I endured the frigid cold of Vermont and New Hampshire to find out if she indeed was running for president civilbeat.org/2018/12/tulsi-…
@govtrack There were the February snowstorms in Iowa civilbeat.org/2019/02/gabbar…
@govtrack And who can forget my journey to a Washington state wilderness area that's only accessible by boat, foot, float plane or horse.

(Technically I was trying to find someone she pays a ton of money, but still it was Gabbard related.) civilbeat.org/2019/09/why-is…
@govtrack Guess who I see!!!
@govtrack That's right! Hawaii Congressman Ed Case. Here's how he's gonna vote. civilbeat.org/2019/12/rep-ed…
@govtrack Michael Moore is here. Yeah, that Michael Moore.
@govtrack Voting now. Case is a yes on article 1 - abuse of power. Still no sign of Gabbard. They have 15 minutes.
@govtrack Keeping an eye on the Y/N vote screen projected on the wall. It's filling up, but there's still a blank space next to "Gabbard"
@govtrack Looks like Tulsi Gabbard finally showed up! She voted "Present"
@govtrack She did it on the second article, too, the one for obstruction of Congress
@govtrack Here's the first draft. Lots more to come so keep clicking civilbeat.org/2019/12/house-…
Gabbard’s campaign just issued a lengthy statement anout her impeachment vote. Here’s part of it:
To follow up...

Gabbard's office finally released a copy of the Trump censure resolution the staffers told me they couldn't find. It came in a press release about 20 minutes after the congresswoman voted "Present" on impeachment
Got a text from the comms director two minutes after the final roll call vote saying the resolutions was finally available. I responded with a request to interview Gabbard. Guess what the response was?
Not surprising, not even a little bit. This has been my general experience w/ Gabbard for years. She consistently avoids answering legitimate questions about her actions
