So the 2010s are coming to an end and this was the decade that we saw KKW rise to the top of the style game and create a new industry in her likeness, all while having the most fun!

I want to share some of my favorite moments to look back at her memorable evolution.

By now we all know how it began. Kim and Kanye had started dating, and he decided to drop by her house with stylist Renelou Pandora during an episode of KUWTK, where Kim was told they’d clean out her closet. He didn’t know where to start, but he knew what he was doing.

Gone was the Hervé Leger, the shiny, the trendy, the fur rimmed Louis Vuitton bags and the 6 inch spiky Louboutins...

at least not completely, since she keeps some memorable pieces in her archive 🤫

This is a really extensive period in Kim’s life that reflects several phases in her rise to superstardom and her own personal tastes in fashion, so here’s more from that.
Not everything that shines is gold, but some of these she ATE!

That last fit was ahead of its time.

This Gucci set by Tom Ford deserves a honorable mention.

Okay flashforward to 2012, where things started to get weird for most people before they got real good. The palette was toned down, silhouettes were streamlined and clean. New names were in. Enter Céline, Margiela, Givenchy, you name it!

Kourtney & Kim Take Miami was in the middle of production during this time, so the Miami streets were the backdrop of the evolution. Last photo was A MOMENT!

The girls were owning those streets! The airport serves were out of control! Who remembers when she posted the arm candy from the last pic on instagram? That was an early flex. And that Givenchy top was the hot item of the season.

Some notable moments from this time: Halloween in Miami, a trip to London for the Kardashian Kollection launch & a hint at what was to come in Paris!

Kim and Kanye were starting to cement their place as a stylish couple and proved that matching moments didn’t have to be embarrassing.

Two major events followed the Miami Months: the Paris affair began & little Ms. North West was conceived! So let’s get to that, which they have explicitly said happened during this birthday trip to Rome lol

Lanvin x Dolce & Gabbana

One of the first designers who welcomed Kim into the world of haute couture & Paris Fashion Week was Stéphane Rolland. He was said to have fallen in love with her from day 1, and they created magic together. It was all next level energy. The HIA Magazine cover came out of that.

When I say next level, I mean NEXT. LEVEL. She skyrocketed into a galaxy the haters could not visit. Y’all were still copping shoes at a Aldo by this point.

The opulence was unmatched. She was wearing that couture like she was born in it! Better than the models!

More stellar moments in Paris. The His & Hers suiting situation at the Givenchy show is one of my favorite style moments of all time! So clean and sick. She was pregnant and murdering that suit! The extensions were gone,makeup was barely there. Get you a girl that can do it all!

Now, with their first born on the way and an escalating power couple status, maternity wear was a topic of conversation for the first time in Kim’s evolving style timeline. She would do it in her own terms and in a way that is impacting the girls left and right to this day.

What did maternity wear look like before 2013? Famous & non-famous women alike had been going the comfort-above-all route since Arthur was anteater.
Enter Ms. Kimberly, trailblazer and the People’s Attorney: she refused to sacrify her sex appeal & stylish preferences.

She said North was not about to put her in some Lululemon leggings and leftover Skechers from her Superbowl ad. Her time to shine was coming, and this was hers. Instead, Kim stayed true to her figure hugging dresses, sky high stilettos & every type of cleavage here and there.

While a monochromatic palette was still on top of her priorities, she did give bright colors a try. Maternity didn’t change the way she dressed, but she changed the way pregnant women could dress. She stayed sexy, risky and fashion forward in Lanvin, Valentino, Givenchy & more.

This pregnancy gave pop culture & fashion 2 of the decade’s biggest stories,that were also new highs in Kim’s rise. They’re also correlated.

In May 2013, Kim attended her very first MET Ball (Punk: Chaos to Couture) she showed up in a custom made Givenchy gown by Riccardo Tisci

Kim had always dreamed of going to the MET Ball, but in 2013 she hadn’t ‘made it’ yet. It’s one of the world’s most exclusive & coveted events, and she attended as Kanye’s plus one.

She was memorably cropped out of the best dressed list by whoever was editing the live gallery.

Drama and memes aside, she was there and mingling around with all the fashion GREATS. The stars were literally aligning.
Inside the Museum she met Carine Roitfeld, legendary editor who helmed Vogue Paris for a decade. Something clicked and it would lead to an iconic partnership.

Carine is one of the biggest industry power players and she had just launched her own eponymous magazine, the biannual CR Fashion Book. Being very close to Riccardo & the late Karl Lagerfeld, she suggested they all got together to shoot pregnant Kim for the cover of her magazine.

A once in a lifetime opportunity was presented to her, the ceiling was about to shatter. Kim took a flight to Paris at eight months pregnant to shoot the third cover of CR.

It was on that day, in Karl Lagerfeld’s iconic studio, that the Fashion Gods anointed the next Supreme.

This is a major turning point in Kim’s career that almost deserves a thread of its own lol.

Those are some of my favorite fashion images of all time & I own one of the original copies 🤩 it’s such a collector’s item.

It also got me real life interested in high fashion.

Okay time to get into the good stuff cause I know y’all love this era! Kim would go on into the final stage of her pregnancy, give birth to heiress North West & then disappear for a couple months...

She re entered the game as BLONDE KIM 2.0. From Paris to LA, traffic stopped.

Blonde Kim touched down in Paris sporting a new look that was about more than just the hair. She was sophisticated with edge and a few goth touches that reflected Riccardo’s vision. She was in town to support her new friends: the Mademoiselle C screening + the Givenchy show.

I remember a key moment from that week in Paris happened when Kim was seen having lunch with André Leon Talley, Anna Wintour’s long time advisor and friend & editor at large at Vogue US at the time. This was major, rare and a sign that *something* was coming.

It was during this era that Kanye proposed to Kim on the day of her birthday in an epic surprise that involved a baseball stadium, a live orchestra and family & friends. It made headlines everywhere. She wore Valentino couture.

Where were you when the news broke?

This era would go on to become a people’s favorite. She really kicked it out the park with this one. She was crop top Kimmy and a walking Max Mara coats ad, in the best sense. Remember the custom George Condo Birkin? He did the MBDTF artwork.

When. Will. Anyone. Ever.

Honorable mention: it was on this day, wrapped in the Max Mara teddy bear IT coat, that she secretly met with Anna Wintour at the Mercer in NYC. During this meeting she presented them with the idea of being shot for the cover of VOGUE US.

The take over was unstoppable.

One important question that needs answers is, do you keep any of these coats in your archive @KimKardashian? They’re all gold!

2014 is my personal favorite KKW style year. She took casual elegance to the streets and made them her own runway. She was still putting those Max Mara coats to WORK! and mixing them with high end basics.

Serve after serve.

This era was a study in finding your own uniform AND keeping it interesting time and time again! The way that Margiela bodysuit blended in with her skin was SEAMLESS!! She started rocking creations by italian designer Ermanno Scervino and it was yet another match made in Heaven.

This was a time where everybody was paying attention and starting to pay their fashion respects, little by little. Serious publications were covering her every move and editors were starting to admit they wanted what she was wearing. Everyone was asking “what does this all mean?”

“Where does this lead? can she keep up the pace?”

It all lead to a moment that nobody, not even Kim in her wildest dreams, saw coming.

Kim & Kanye’s American VOGUE cover was revealed in April 2014. It literally broke the internet before Kim actually broke it. She had arrived.

This quickly became a “where were you when it dropped?” moment. Social & traditional media were set on fire and everybody had something to say.

It was a cover of firsts.
First time an interracial couple, a rapper, a hashtag & a reality star had made it onto the cover of VOGUE.

The story was shot at Kris Jenner’s old home by the incredible Annie Leibovitz.

It was written by Hamish Bowles and styled by the iconic Grace Coddington.
Kim wore a series of custom-made, haute couture wedding gowns from Lanvin, McQueen, Dolce & Gabanna and more.

She went back to being a brunette specifically for this cover, at Anna's request. It was one of the magazine's best kept secrets and went on to become a landmark issue.

If Carine had invited Kim into the room, this was Anna Wintour giving her a front row industry seat.

Not so fun fact: with this cover being literally a collector's item, I HAD to have it so I ordered it online. It got lost in the mail & I don't own a copy 🙃

But ENOUGH of Vogue. WEDDING WEEK NEXT!!!

May 2014 alone was full of highlights, profesional & personal. She attended her second MET Ball (Charles James: Beyond Fashion), but this time Kim had an invitation of her own.

They were dressed by Alber Elbaz for Lanvin and Vogue asked Kim to snap pics inside for an article.

Here she is at a fitting with Alber. The second photo is the dress she almost wore, the third shows a variation of the belt + matching bracelets that didn’t fit the 40s theme in my opinion. Last is the final look which I believe she changed into in the car. I loved it! So elegant

A few weeks later, the future Mr & Mrs. West would touch down in Paris with all their closest friends & family for a week of celebrations leading up to their wedding. Kim brought out her very best game, from casual to opulence, the french had never seen such a RANGE!!! Très SHOOK

She was pairing American Apparel bodysuits with Ermanno Scervino suede skirts, doing head to toe Tom Ford leather the next day and hopping from one showroom to another, Givenchy to Margiela and everything in between.

The scene in the streets was out of control. And I mean it.

For context, here is a paparazzi video of Kim and Kourtney leaving L’Avenue restaurant after lunch. The craze was hitting new peaks as the wedding was getting closer and everybody wanted to be a witness to their every move.

Now, there were 3 moments that week that had the world gasping collectively.

The first was when Kim stepped OUT for her bachelorette party in what is arguably Olivier’s masterpiece at Balmain. This is a piece from the Fall 2012 collection that makes a case for fashion as ART.

It was inspired by the Fabergé eggs, which are 69 jewelled eggs made from every luxurious item in your books, created between 1885 & 1917 in Imperial Russia as Easter gifts for the Tsars’ wives and mothers.

THE dress had thousands of pearls, leather, crystals & embroidery.

But she wasn’t done, and it only got more extravagant from there.

Later that week, Mr. Valentino Garavani, the man behind the maison, hosted a private lunch for the Wests, their relatives & close friends. It was held at his residence which is a castle in the outskirts of Paris.

It could still go even more over the top before the actual wedding. The day before, Kim and Kanye hosted a reception for over 100 people at the Palace of Versailles. Everybody who is somebody was there. Lana Del Rey performed and they wore custom Maison Margiela, another favorite

It was there that everyone was told they’d be flown out to Italy the next day for the big day.

The week came to a close on May 24th 2014 when Kim Kardashian married Kanye West at Forte di Belvedere, the largest fortress in Florence. The bride wore custom Givenchy haute couture.

It was designed by their close friend Riccardo Tisci.
Mario Dedivanovic was trusted to beat her face and he delivered, as usual. Chris McMillan, who created ‘The Rachel’ did the hair.

She had become Kim Kardashian West.

And yet, the real world domination was just about to start. The couture shows are held in Paris in July, and KKW emerged in town to dip her toe in the high fashion pool once more.
She was Valentino’s date to his maison’s show & attended the inaugural Vogue Paris Gala in Balmain.

This was a very experimental year where Kim got to know new designers with visions of sexy sophistication. Some of them where Ulyana Sergeenko (who I wish she would work with again), Juan Carlos Obando & Natalia Alaverdian with her brand A.W.A.K.E for which she hosted a dinner.

This year would never be complete without Kim’s growing love affair with the house of Balmain. She took Olivier’s extremely intricate & baroque creations to the streets and the red carpet. Here are some epic moments, including her Blazer period, which became her new uniform.

Kim and Kanye came to embody the vision that Olivier Rousteing had in mind for the label, and their relationship came to a climax when he asked them to be the faces of the latest Balmain campaign at that time. Lensed by Mario Sorrenti, this was Kim becoming a high fashion muse.

In September 2014, during Paris Fashion Week, they became inescapable fixtures in every front row. They had friends to support & came out in full force for Alexander Wang @ Balenciaga, Riccardo/Givenchy, Alber/Lanvin & Olivier/Balmain.

Have you ever seen a baby in the front row? I have.
North was getting her own seats at 1 year old. You could say she was born to be a star ever since she was showered with gifts from every major designer on the planet (remember when Kim posted them?🔥)

Anddd, here are my last two favorite random moments to wrap up 2014! I absolutely love love love Kim in a coat and these two are perfect examples of how easily she can transition from elegant to sexy and kill both. This was a year full of fashion HIGHS!

Of course this year would NEVER be complete w/o THE most viral moment of all if there ever was one. During her PFW trip Kim met up w/ the bold Jean Paul Goude to shoot these pics for the winter issue of @papermagazine, called ‘Break The Internet’

And break the internet it did.

Another traffict-stopping moment, this birthed a phenomenon. It was reported that Paper received 5 million unique visitors after the reveal. From news headlines,to movies,magazines,costumes & endless recreations, this is the reason we use the phrase Break The Internet to this day

The concept was an updated take on the photographer’s own original image, called “Champagne Incident, 1976”. It played into the season’s holiday spirit and celebrations.

While fashion was clearly not the focus here, this was a testament to Kim’s enduring influence and reach.

Hold on to your wigs cause we’re oficially entering 2015 now!
Kim started off the year strong, and she was fully committed to all-black-verything looks. You could argue that that sounds boring, but she managed to keep it daring and edgy. Deep necklines were her thing too. #Skims

She was also ready to take things a bit further in the risk deparment when it came to her hair, as she cut it short. If you were around during her early years of super long curls, you know this was a big step. But there was more coming.

She put these camo pants on the MAP!

During NYFW Kanye presented YEEZY Season 1, the first show of his new partnership with adidas. It was the talk of the town and gave us many things, such as shoes that you still haven’t been able to cop and a front row that has yet to be topped. Who run the world? These people.

I still think about that front row every day. If your fave isn’t in it they’re probaby not worth stanning.
Anyway.

The sight of Kim sitting next to Anna at a front row was unthinkable in 2010. This was another huge sign of ‘making it’ in the industry.

She. Had. ARRIVED.

After NYFW she resurfaced in Paris for the last round of shows left in fashion month. But why was she wearing a beanie?

She was plotting and ready to keep us on the edge of our seats. She gave a little bit of it away when getting into her car.

Do you know what’s next???

A brand new era was upon us. Blonde Kim 3.0 had gone the platinum route, and it made her look like a brand new person. This was her most extreme hair transformation yet, and it was accompanied by a streak of consistent excellent choices. All this Givenchy is dumb FIREEE. 10/10

I remember I got so excited when I saw Kim at this Balenciaga by Alexander Wang show. I loved his previous collection which she is wearing here and looked incredible!

Sitting next to them is Katie Grand, editor in chief of LOVE Magazine & master mind behind another MAJOR moment

Kim’s newly cemented status as an experimental style star wasn’t limited to clothes. She was open to all kinds of creative collaborations with magazines, stylist & photograhers, becoming a blank canvas for them to project whatever vision they had of her. And Katie had a bold one.

She had an idea for a cover story that involved Kim, photographer Steven Klein (my personal favorite), the visionary Miuccia Prada and the best of her archival designs.
The result? This provocative 30 page spread that took 3 days to make.

This is a top 3 fav for me.

She literally bleached her eyebrows for this. Kim’s commitment to surrendering to creativity impressed me. She was distancing herself from her days of pretty Cosmo covers,while staying true to herself. She can still do both tho. And what’s that? RANGE! The other girls just can’t.

By May 2015 it was MET Gala time once again. The year’s theme was China: Through the Looking Glass, and Kimye were now among the most anticipated guests.

Kim wore an original creation by Peter Dundas for the house of Roberto Cavalli, which was also his very first for the label.

It looked so tricky and appeared as if you were completely naked underneath, yet nothing was shown. You can’t see undergarments or anything either. I bet Skims would’ve come in handy for that gown! lol

Kim was literally holding in a secret in those pics cause guess what? She was pregnant again! This time with Saint “it’s Sainty! 😁” West!
She’d been through this before & it showed. Everything clicked this time.

Pregnancy had never been done in such style and refinement.

The formula was still the same, but the choices were even more tasteful: figure hugging dresses under a coat are basically a KKW trademark. The palete sticked with neutrals & nudes and no compromising on the heels.
She was even down for a mini skirt! & vintage concert t shirts!

And don’t even think for a second that she would give up on the couture! With every designer wanting to dress her,the possibilities were endless. However, she remained loyal to those who were loyal to her. A pregnant woman in Valentino & see-through Givenchy couture? Yes please!

This year’s bonus mention comes wrapped in skin tight latex. Kim gave this material a try even while pregnant and somehow made it work. We love Wonder Woman!

Can we all stare collectively at that platinum once more?

Can't end 2015 w/o pointing out how Kim singlehandedly brought chokers back for a good min. She was COMMITTED. These braids are a controversial matter #onhere,but the veredict is that while she didnt invent them,she gave them visibility & suddenly everybody & their dads had them.

(tag your friend that tried to emulate either trend or went full KKW and did both, we all know somebody 😂)

With that being said, we are oficially diving head first into 2016!! Fasten your seatbelts!

This year was diverse. You’ll see. She stepped back in the game after Saint and was ready to give you girls WORK!! The braids stayed, she was down to try wigs & dad hats. The clear heels emerged and the coats got bigger. Athleisure entered the chat... and she made it glam.

Noteworthy fact: since Kim is constantly educating herself in different areas, she decided to have all her fur coats re-made in faux fur versions. This is 1 of several ways she is supporting a more ethical approach to fashion, more on that later.

The biggest fashion story of 2016 came, again, courtesy of Kanye & his presentation for YEEZY SEASON 3 at Madison Square Garden, which doubled as a listening party for The Life Of Pablo. It was epic beyond measure, & he collaborated w/ Olivier & Balmain to dress the entire family

If you got this far you know what May means: MET GALA! Being one of the only couples that stick to theme, you can always count on Kimye to shake the red carpet. Balmain was their choice for Manus x Machina: Fashion in the age of Technology. These looks were all about the DETAILS.

I would dare say that this was the year where Kim started the biggest amount of trends at once & became the blueprint for every fast fashion retailer.
Chokers. Bike shorts. Tshirt as dress with a corset. Jeans with lace bodysuits.

SO many things were happening! Did you try any?

If you thought they were done with their Balmain takeover, let me remind you of this GEM.
During the Pablo era, Kanye collaborated w/ Olivier once again for the WOLVES video. Directed by Steven Klein, it served as the house's new campaign & starred Kim + a stellar cast of models

It has the most stunning imagery. I love the shot of Kim with everyone touching her face.
The lighting & the set up highlighted the intricacy of the clothes in a way that made them look like the most expensive on Earth, which they are lol

This year they had one foot on our necks & the other on a plane! The first 2 photos are in London for the 100th anniversary of British Vogue. That’s another Cavalli by Peter Dundas & it’s a favorite! Then they went to Rome to support Valentino & Sofia Coppola in Vivienne Westwood

As you know, the Saint Pablo tour hit the road on the second half of 2016. Kim was there to support Kanye every step of the way, and she did not disappoint on the style department. The silver surfer moment was for the books.

Highlight: Kim and North in matching custom Vetements

In August they took the *last relevant* VMAs by storm. At a show where everyone stands out for being outrageous, their simplicity set them apart. Kanye premiered his incredible visual for FADE, while Kim introduced Britney’s comeback performance. This was a wet goddess moment.

If you think about it, this could be the un-camp version of a wet California girl vision. She’d take it to the next level a few years later for the MET.

Notice the multiple gold chains she started rocking. Those were by Kanye, featured religious references which run in his work

September came, and with it Paris Fashion Week. Kanye being on tour, Kim decided to take on the city on her own for the first time, bringing Kourtney with her for her first PFW.

This was a huge display of the shift in dynamics: Kim had risen to the top of the fashion game.

She was the most wanted everywhere she went and the fashion news cycle revolved around her. She could pick where to go, what to wear & who would come with her. She had become the main fashion girl and dressed every bit the part.

Every one of these moments go in my all time favorites book. The fact that she felt comfortable enough to go makeup free at Balenciaga speaks volumes. Who else can do that? she was THAT bitch.

I love when she does fashion moments with Kourtney. They ran the game that week!

I repeat: the same Kim Kardashian that had started out the decade popularizing every contour technique and heavy makeup was now going au naturel in public! and looking better than ever! what do we call that???

Kim was born for this.

Can we talk about how the pioneer, the irreplaceable Azzedine Alaïa (RIP) not only had them over at his home for dinner but also personally fitted them into their outfits, as he loved to do with his clients? This is the type of stuff you brag about.

The big statement and only accesory she needed this era was the extremely long hair, which was inspired by Naomi Campbell.

This is how we bring 2016 to a close. After this week, Kim took a much needed break to spend time with her family for the rest of the year.

With a couple months left of that year, we went into a full famine of beauty. This was a time to respect but, early aughts aside, we had never been directionless before.
What were we going to do?
People were seen wearing jeans over their heads. Coats as skirts.

Nothing worked

We went into the new year full of uncertainty. Then came January 2017.

Kim was spotted in public for the first time in months at the Dubai airport, still rocking her waist-long hair. Plus a new lip ring. And adidas Calabasas sweatpants with Yeezy heels. This was telling.

This would be a year of keeping things relaxed,easy going and even closer to home. She still went hard with a coat or blazer every now & then though.
But for the most part this was the start of her Yeezy era, where an unlikely combo became her new uniform: sweatpants with heels.

This was an era that still gets very mixed reactions, but in my opinion she made it work for herself most of the time. And that’s the thing about Kim, you might try it & fail, but she looks great in it somehow.

If any of you gave sweats and heels a try you may come forward now.

Many were wondering whether Kim would even show up to the MET that year. The theme was a celebration of Rei Kawakubo's legacy and it was called "Art of the In-between"

In the end she did go by herself, but skipped theme & wore a simple,vintage couture dress by Vivienne Westwood.

I was really happy to see her keep this super long sleek hair for a while in 2017, it became my favorite on her.

Here are some moments from the Yeezy Season 5 presentation at New York Fashion Week.

Two random moments I loved from that week. She MURDERED that Jacquemus with no remorse! The lip ring was such a little bold, unexpected detail that I really dig. Where did you get that idea from @KimKardashian ?

How little do the kids look here? The most fashion forward family!

@KimKardashian if Kim had favored all-black looks in the past, this was the year she transitioned into a more white, creamy palette. She looked impeccable every time!
In June she launched KKW Beauty, that's a highlight.
She also started showing appreciation for vintage pieces & tiny sunglasses

@KimKardashian She was still heavy on Yeezy, especially for shoes, jewelry and other accesories. She was en route to becoming the ultimate, full blown muse for Kanye's brand.
Athleisure was something she was still pushing, but with a sexier and more refined twist.

Come September, she was ready to make the rounds again at fashion week and emerged in New York with another dramatic hair transformation: silver/platinum hair.
She debuted it at the Tom Ford show (hi Carine!), and took it to the streets in more vintage pieces. Throwback Queen.

She let her choices do the talking this week. I can never get enough of Kim in a blazer as dress, and this hair elevated that. She looks so sharp and edgy.

Vivienne Westwood x Alexander Wang x archival Versace, which I believe kickstarted her relationship with Donatella.

After staying relatively quiet throughout the year, a joint project that reminded everyone immediately who had the reins of the fashion game was revealed.

This was Kanye’s newest YEEZY campaign which starred Kim in staged paparazzi shots running errands in Calabasas. BRILLIANT!!

Styled by their close friend and frequent collaborator Carine Roitfeld in head to toe Yeezy Season 6, Kim posted these images on her social channels, ditching the conventional route in a way that reminds me of when Kanye traded physical CDs for streaming platforms.
Very fresh!

All these photos summarized Kanye’s vision for his label at the time and called attention to utilitarian fashion, that Kim naturally elevated.
It was all about stylish comfort, earth-y tones and light hues that remained desirable.

There is one moment I could never leave out of the 2017 recap and it’s THIS. I can write a 10 page essay about how much I love Kim in a suit/open blazer. From the moment she did it at Lanvin in 2014! She makes menswear sexy.

I really wanted to finish the thread before the new year but since I got sick I had to get some rest so I guess we're carrying it into 2020!

Let's take it back to 2018. Kim cut her platinum hair short and kept updating her YEEZY looks. Reflective fabrics were a new favorite ✨✨

By february 2018, Kim was done with platinum and was letting her natural hair grow out. But that didn’t mean she was going back to brunette because her most radical change yet was coming!

Who could have ever guessed that she’d dye her hair pink AND pull it off? She’s a badass

As soon as she had that pink hair on lock she was off to Japan! It was the perfect place to debut it and SERVE.

She took to the streets in different looks, but mostly all the newest YEEZY Season 7 to shoot a campaign similar to the original one.

These two were my personal favorites.
Look at these two fits and try to convince me they aren’t the definition of dope as hell. You can’t! The styling is impeccable. I think the reason why this hair looked so good is because she stick to neutral & industrial palettes. Major key

Pink hair was a short lived phase but we will always remember her. After that she was back to usual business in more of the latest Yeezy which explored new colors + scuba pieces in collab with 2XU. Kinda cool.

Her Vogue India cover came out, shot a few months back. Gorgeous!

I can’t continue without going a little back for this top tier moment. In January it was revealed that Raf Simons, another fashion luminary supreme who helmed Calvin Klein at the time, had chosen Kim & the sisters to front the newest ads for the brand’s jeans & intimates division

It represented their first MAJOR campaign — both internationally and nationwide. The ads were EVERYWHERE. From Times Square to my local mall. It was another huge co-sign from yet another industry power player. In my opinion, this is one of the most on brand decisions of our time.

At the end of march she hinted a one of her biggest fashion moments of that year, which was still to come. During her KKW x Mario collection launch dinner, Kim wore a variation of a vintage Versace dress from 1995 with a sweetheart neckline.

Honorable mentions: Remember when she showed up at her highschool reunion in this Jacquemus number which included the infamous Mini Le Chiquito bag? She didn’t have to send the girls home that bruised 😩

Brace yourselves because May came and the M is for MET GALA!!!
Evey vintage moment was leading up to this glorious sight of Kim wearing custom Versace couture inspired by one of Gianni’s designs. Everything was a 90s Supermodel reference, from the nails, to the hair and the glam

The theme was Heavenly Bodies: Fashion & the Catholic Imagination and Donatella certainly took it to heart because Kim showed up looking like the HOLY GRAIL!!!! I still don’t understand how that chainmail can hug the body so perfectly. Trademark Versace. One for the BOOKS! 🔥

But that night’s VERSACE revival was far from over! After the gala Kim changed into a dress from the memorable FW92 ‘Miss S&M’ collection by Gianni. This was as risky as it was a perfect fit.

She was on her best 90s Supermodel streak that week and nobody could stop her!!! The next day she wore yet another piece from the archives and bodied it! The medusa hair pins were the best detail.

Highlights from this period: Business of Fashion cover for the ‘Influence’ issue + MTV Movie Awards where they took home an award for KUWTK (in vintage Atelier Versace!)

Now, up until this point it seems like we’ve seen it all, right? Every high seems higher than the previous one. But each one of them has been pointing to the HIGHEST high, which was a complete surprise and the ultimate credential. It’s a moment that still gives me chills!

Hint:

On June 4th 2018, at the 35th annual CFDA Fashion Awards, Kim Kardashian West was presented with the inaugural Influencer Award at the Brooklyn Museum. Called the ‘Oscars’ of fashion, this distinction recognized her wide-ranging influence and impact on the fashion industry.

She accepted the award in a two piece Rick Owens set and jewelry reminiscent of Michèle Lamy’s.

This is the ultimate win in Kim’s long fight to be taken seriously in an industry that wanted to shun her in every way at the beginning of the decade. They need her now.

She won.

I felt super proud of her that night and I still do. There is no one more deserving. As Busy Philipps put it “Kim is the influencer’s influencer.”

After the CFDA Kim was back to supporting Kanye’s latest YEEZY offerings around his offices in Calabasas. It’s giving me ready to leave the Earth for the moon teas.

One of the year’s highlights came in July when Kim made her triumphant return to Paris Fashion Week alongside Kanye. They were there to support Virgil Abloh’s debut as the creative director for Louis Vuitton mens, which she is wearing here before it made its way down the runway.

When Kim does color every once in a while, she goes bold! This hot pink phase during the second half of the year was legit! She kicked it off at Kylie’s birthday party in custom Yeezy and by next morning it became the official IG Girl uniform.

By the time they were signing up on waitlists to get a knockoff of the pink, Kim had already moved on. She went to Miami & was FEELING this color! So much she decided to match her drip to her cars. RICH BITCH BEHAVIOR!!!

And that is how everybody came to be obsessed with neon.

But since you know she manages to effortlessly cover a variety of trends all at once, neon wasn’t her only Miami vibe. She brought out the head to toe snakeskin, which has become her recurring favorite, and yet another vintage Versace minidress.

Look at that Yeezy again. JEEZ.

I love that she still does “silver surfer” moments every now and then. There hasn’t been a single one that isn’t super cool.

Side note- the Rihanna x Dior sunglasses are the best on her.

September 2018 brought us the second installment of their global Calvin Klein campaign. Photographed by Willy Vanderperre & styled by Olivier Rizzo, it was titled ‘Our Family’ and was heavily influenced by Americana.

Kim is a minimalist who loves a maximalist moment. I think I’ve yelled the word range enough times lol. To prove my point, look at how she did this over the top money print (Balenciaga + vintage Jeremy Scott) for a party and head to toe snakeskin (again!)
So good.

The Tiffany Blue Book event in NYC was the perfect excuse to dress up and get glam, and she did so in the ever so fitting and unconventional Rick Owens. Look how she brought platforms back in the form of lucite, which was a nice way of doing throwback while keeping it on brand!

Since Yeezy is now one of her every day essentials, she was still ready to give it some moments by the end of 2018. Whether it’s formalwear or athleisure, she finds a way to make it happen. You can even count on her to update the dress code for a presidential visit to Uganda.

They say the annual LACMA Gala is the West Coast’s answer to the Met Ball in terms of star power and this year Kim & Kourtney delivered on the fashion with a sultry sister moment! They wore Gucci designs from the Tom Ford era, which was very clever. I love everything about this.

Kim wasn’t done with pink yet by the end of 2018! She did it for a mom on the go look & also a sexy night out. I love this bubblegum shade of it, and you know she’s always down to bring one of her Birkins back.

The last of the year’s highlights is also a 2019 preview. You all have heard how Alice Marie Johnson’s story awakened Kim’s justice reform journey. The day she put on a suit and headed to the White House, her look took a new direction.

Now more than ever, Kim means business.

So we made it all the way to 2019 which would leave us up to date (for now).
This is the year that Kim dug deeper into the archives and secured some rare, golden pieces, defined a new uniform and entered an unexpected but fruitful relationship with a legendary couturier ✨

It was only February but she was ready to stop us dead in our tracks!! Kim stepped out in these two ensembles from the Manfred Thierry Mugler archives, which featured two of her favorite things (snakeprint + sexy cutouts). It was undeniably a perfect match from the get go!

Not only because she had been showing appreciation for the best of archival fashion, but also because Mugler designs really favor her. She took it several steps further when she travelled to Montreal alongside the man himself for a private tour of his newest retrospective exhibit

which was held at the Museum of Fine Arts. This date was the moment I KNEW they were up to something, it had a muse in the making feel to it. For this special date Kim wore two more complete archival looks:

After that she mysteriously popped up in Paris again (yay!) for a trip that was as short was it was delicious. It could only be a MET fitting, why else would she fly accross the Atlantic ocean for like a day? No details were given away but she FED us these vintage Alaïa looks 🔥

Like I said,this would be the year she cemented herself as a knowledgeable vintage collector & fashion insider! Christian Dior from the John Galliano days became a favorite, Jean Paul Gaultier's printed collections were a regular & Versace was already a mainstay! main girl tingz!

April brought surprise after surprise; it was an exciting month after VOGUE US revealed that Kim was the cover star for the May issue. That marked her second cover, but her first solo too.
Inside she dropped a major exclusive: She was studying to become a lawyer and take the bar.

It was a career high. A major shift.
On the digital side of content, we were finally blessed with the long awaited #73Questions video featuring Kim. And Kanye! AND the kids! + the first look at their ̶p̶a̶l̶a̶c̶e̶ home.

As opulent as things have been, it wasn't all archival and couture in 2019. This is also the year of SUNDAY SERVICE! and Kim has always been one to mix things up. Her more earthly moments came in the form of SS merch and Yeezy on the side.

Jesus is King + Jesus is Born out now!

The last May of the decade came,and it was time to kick things up more than one notch.
Kim’s relationship with Manfred Thierry Mugler had been leading up to a moment that made literal waves at the MET’s “Notes on Camp” exhibition. It brought him out of retirement after 20 years.

I REPEAT: Mugler came out of retirement to create his first original design in 20years exclusively for Kim to wear to the MET on the same month she was on the cover of VOGUE! It does not get more elite than this. From being a plus one to running the night. She came full circle!

Called ‘The Wet Look’, the result is what you call a vision. The goal? To make Kim appear as if she had walked out of the ocean & straight into the Metropolitan Museum.

@Cesardsgns the inspiration for the dress came from this image of Sophia Loren in the 1957 movie "Boy on a Dolphin."
She had to wear a corset by Mr. Pearl, the world's most notorious corset maker.

@Cesardsgns As loaded as that was, Kim and Mugler weren't done that day! He created a second "Crystal Camp Girl" look for her to host a MET Gala after party. It was made of moiré printed latex and more crystal beading! Truly a legendary night.

Let's get back to basics after that crazy couture trip. In 2019 Kim found yet another way to reinvent her uniform. These pants became her new favorite day to day staple, in varying materials and colors, and she paired them with different fitted tops (vintage JPG, Tom Ford, Yeezy)

Somewhere in between all the high fashion and the vintage, KKW still found the opportunity to try something new and support up and coming brands. One of them is Maisie Wilen, a label launched under Kanye’s incubator program. Its founder was a former womenswear designer at Yeezy.

Another new name that entered the picture is Ottolinger, a Berlin-based label with “destructive tendencies” by Christa Bösch and Cosima Gadient. All three of these looks were custom made for Kim, and the middle one was a collaboration with Yeezy if I’m not mistaken.

Kim’s designer loyalty has been a huge part of her journey, as she always goes back to the names that have inspired her new look and supported her along the way. One of them is Rick Owens, a huge influence on their aesthetic. Here are some of the times she supported him in 2019.

This was the year of forging new relationships, and celebrating first loves! For the WSJ’s 2019 Innovator Awards, Kim & Kanye presented their good friend Riccardo Tisci with a distinction. It was the first time they wore his Burberry designs since he took over the British label.

The new relationship I’m talking about is, of course, Manfred Thierry Mugler. And it proved to only get stronger when VOGUE Arabia unveiled Kim as their September 2019 cover star in a special project art directed by Mugler, where she wore even more exclusives from his archives.

Nobody has ever committed to paying homage and bringing a brand back like Kim. I’m trying to think of the last time somebody gave Versace these many moments, but nothing else comes up. Her investigation into their archives was DEEP! It’s such an investment & it was well worth it.

HIGHLIGHT: Kardashian equals Armenia, and here is Kim's most recent visit to the country. When she goes it's basically a state visit & she dressed for the occasion, but more importantly also made sure to connect with her roots and honor the traditions. Presidential Earth goddess

HIGHLIGHT: In 2019 Kim made yet another major fashion/business move when she launched her SKIMS Solutionwear™ company which provides different styling solutions, from innovative shapewear to body tape and more. Being a stylist back in the day, she knew exactly what women needed!

Kim didn't leave her relationship with Vivienne Westwood behind this year, and for that we say thank God! She wore her corseted gowns on two special occasions: to present an award at the Emmys & Diddy's 50th bday party. I love how she took a similar design & made it edgy & glam!

Another thing she brought with her in her Louis Vuitton baggage? Her favorite form of animal print: snakeskin! 🐍🐍🐍
From a maxi skirt, to a vintage Versace for the People’s Choice Awards, to another total look to the Dior show, Kim can’t get enough of it! I want to try it lol

Last round of vintage finds: These say a lot about subtle Kim preferences! The traditional mandarin collar is something she has favored in recent years,especially when dressing North. That crocodile bustier is both hot & haute. And you know she loves a good Dior by Galliano piece

The last MOMENT of a year always comes the night of their annual Christmas Eve party and 2019 was no different. Kim brought out this stunning Dior couture number designed by none other than John Galliano.

What a way to end a whole decade of style, in style!

Of course there is also one last highlight, which I believe is telling of what’s to come. There is something about Kim in a suit at the White House. As her career as a lawyer & advocate takes off, I think we can count on her to keep us entertained & cheering along the way 🙏🏼💫🍾
