LRT: Harada's talked about his reluctance to compile or port the older Tekken games in a big way in a few recent-ish Japanese interviews—part of it is not wanting to put competing products on the market, but more than that, he believes the early Tekken games and many other (>)
early-3D games were popular primarily (& sometimes solely) due to being at the cutting edge of the "polygon boom" and, divorced from that context, he thinks they don't necessarily hold a lot of appeal, at least commercially

I see his point (& re: TK1&2, I tend to agree) but...
...I think Namco in particular has massive blind spots about which games people around the world do & don't have nostalgia for

like, I'd wager Namco's brand is waaaaay more heavily associated with the early-3D/PS era in Europe, the middle east, etc than anything before or since
...but instead of embracing that era, they're content to pretend they stopped making "classic" games in 1987, and to push games like Xevious and Druaga in super broad ways in lieu of games 95% of the world remembers, let alone cares about
(not bagging those games but the Namco "golden era" is absolutely a Japanese conceit that doesn't apply to most of the world, but whatever, I know these games are just licensing filler for the atgames of the world & the expense of reissuing them is negligible)
