It’s unlikely that Georgia’s new voting system will be ready in time for early voting in the Presidential Primary beginning Mar 2. At the Dec State Election Board meeting, the Secretary of State claimed that the transition to the Dominion Voting System is ahead of schedule.
On Oct 10, the Secretary of State said that all counties should have all equipment by Jan 15 at the latest. But on Nov 15th, Gabriel Sterling, project manager for the Secretary of State’s office said all of the new equipment will be delivered to the state by the end of Jan (GPB).
Then on Dec 11, Sterling said all 159 counties should have their voting machines by early Feb - roughly a month before advance voting starts (AP).
Given this obvious slippage, how will counties have adequate time to complete essential testing, complex installations, and increasingly critical poll worker training? Why is the Secretary of State unwilling to give counties options and so determined to set them up for failure?
