To Nicholas, I'm proposing we make public college tuition-free for 80% of Americans. Instead of spending your mom's tax dollars on tuition for the kids of billionaires, we should spend it on helping middle class and working families.

Climate change is an issue on everyone's mind. Over the weekend, I heard from New Hampshire voters about their growing concerns with changing weather patterns, obstacles to building resilient communities, and this president’s unwillingness to address the climate crisis.
Americans from Portsmouth, NH to South Bend are experiencing the consequences of climate change. Health issues from air pollution, heat, and infectious diseases are growing. Extreme weather conditions are impacting farms, small businesses, homes, and towns. We cannot wait to act.

Today was my last day as mayor of South Bend. I believe in my hometown, a city that trusted me to lead, sustained me when I left to serve our country, and supported me as a person as well as a mayor.
Together, we brought back a city which was written off as ”dying,” and acted to create new jobs, opportunity, and hope. There’s more to do, but the progress we made tells a story of what we can do by bringing people together around bold ideas.
Today we had the opportunity to celebrate the swearing in of a new mayor and council, and I join my whole community in wishing them every success in guiding our hometown.

It’s astonishing for me to think about how far we've come in the last year.

Beginning as an improbable idea with a small team in a cramped office, @PeteForAmerica has grown into a team of hundreds of staff and millions of supporters, touching even more lives across the country.
We’ve taken our message about the purpose of the presidency and the possibilities for our politics from obscurity to the top tier of our country's political process.

We have a lot of work ahead of us. But unlike a year ago, we’ll do it with strong, national grassroots support.
In a formidable field of Democratic leaders, there’s no candidate I want to trade places with. And there is certainly no set of people I'd rather be working with than #TeamPete.

I wouldn’t be here without your support.

On 9/11 Arabs and anyone who looked Muslim realized how alone were. We couldn't come together with you and just mourn because the world turned against us and forced us to explain ourselves for something we didn't even understand. That's what 9/11 was like for us thanks for asking
And the worst part is that talking about our experience is always something frightening because we fear that you will turn to us and tell us we're ignorant and insensitive, so we keep it in.
But the truth is that as an Arab, as a person who looks like they're Middle Eastern or anything remotely close, we lost the same sense of security everyone did and mourned for the deaths of so many innocent people, but we also lost something else on 9/11: our identity.

The campaign started with a few conversations with Toys R Us employees over Facebook. I did my best to convince Ann Marie, Debbie, Tracy, MJ, Tyler, & Teria to trust an organizer they've never met before to get on a flight to D.C. to meet with @SenSanders
The video of Toys R Us employees speaking with @SenSanders ended up getting close to 5 million views. It took our campaign to the next level – as we began to talk to hundreds of more workers, they'd already heard about us.
