In March 2019, I translated my previous 2017 research to Spanish on the smear campaign against Berta Cáceres that was launched 3 months before she was murdered:
In April 2019, I tried (and partially failed) to get corrections made to articles that used some of my research but did not properly cited it
May 2019 I debunked a shitstorm started by an Irish troll that deceptively used graphs to look legit
June 2019, I was interviewed in @CJR about the above mentioned troll shitstorm
August 2019, I made graphs of hashtags corresponding to a right wing rally in Portland with the intention to show people who was dominating the discussion on twitter in real time (or as close to it as possible)
Sept 2019 I made graphs of some Trump trains. This blog was surprisingly popular, it’s got almost 10K views (that’s a lot for my little medium blog)
Also from Sept, I graphed an ISIS spam botnet which was definitely not on my 2019 bingo card
It got a mention in BBC so that was interesting monitoring.bbc.co.uk/product/c2013u…
This graph was from the above mentioned troll shitstorm in May but I didn’t make it public until November 2019. There’s more where this came from but you’ll have to wait till 2020 for the rest ☺️
And my final blog of 2019 is about Bolivia I’m really disappointed that so many excellent researchers did analysis on this topic but none of them really broke thru to the US media. Let’s change that in 2020. Talk to more researchers outside USA, they rule.
