I'm getting tired of seeing yet another National Review screed about how liberal colleges are brainwashing the rising generation of college students...

Oops, my bad, this paragraph is from from the "Mission Statement" that opened the inaugural, Nov. 19, 1955 edition of the NR.
The students who were college students at the time, being brainwashed by their left wing ideologue professors, are currently in their 80s.
It's also worth noting that it was these reviled professors of the 1950s who wrote the the "non-PC" histories that contemporary conservatives would prefer us to read rather than the PC garbage supposedly written now.

In 1957 less than 8% of Americans had college degrees. The modern higher ed system (as we now know it) barely existed...and yet, already, conservatives were at war with it. And they also want us to believe they're the defenders of the great "Western tradition."
