.@WhatsApp has made connecting with friends and family so much simpler and easier. It has defacto become the primary mode of communication especially around the festive season to communicate our wishes. On NYE, approx 100 Bn messages were exchanged on #WhatsApp (thread)
Out of this, approx 20 Bn were sent from India. Fair game considering 25% of WhatsApp’s global user base comes from India. Multiple #product #innovations seen by #WhatsApp users across the world have originated in India
Which is why, it is surprising that @WhatsApp on #iPhone has such a broken experience compared to #WhatsApp on #Android.
When you have multiple unread messages and u reply to them, after replying to a message, the chat window comes back to the top of the chats rather than staying back at the same place from where the previous chat was replied to
This causes special challenge especially during the festive season when there are multiple unread messages and after replying to a message deep below, you have to scroll all the way back down to find more unread messages to reply.
I am not sure but I can probably bet that #iOS users respond after a longer time compared to Android users in the same festive period. Replying on #WhatsApp using iOS is a painful experience when you have too many messages to reply to. #Android in comparison is a breeze!
In addition, saving images from #WhatsApp chats has unusual restriction of NOT more than 5 images at a time. The limit on forwarding to not more than 5 users was logical but can’t think of any reason why there’s a limit on number of images which can be saved at one time.
It’s not that more than 5 can’t be saved directly to Cloud or Google Drive - the restriction is only on saving the images to the device. Quite inexplicable!! Wonder if the #ProductManagers at @WhatsApp have identified these and working to rectify these issues! #WhatsApp
