Flying into Sydney last night, experienced the worst turbulence ever - sudden change in wind direction, just as we were due to land at Kingsford Smith. In the cabin w the already dimmed cabin lights (DARKNESS), feeling lifted out of the seat, children crying, ppl screaming +
Lasting about 10 or so mins (felt much longer, trust me). Later on Captain Chris Giblin (sp? I’m going off pronunciation here) said what we had encountered was severe turbulence due to a “southerly buster”. Had to divert the first time and attempt to land again later +
Hoping that the wind had settled. Anyway - reason 4 post is that, the Captain & cabin crew of @FijiAirways, despite the encounter - their confidence, reassurance and constantly smiling faces, made us feel safe (albeit scared) and assured that WE WOULD LAND despite the encounter +
