Federal prosecutors in Washington this afternoon told a judge overseeing a lawsuit filed by a media outlet coalition that DOJ is prepared to release sealed materials (w/redacted info on ongoing investigations) from warrants in Roger Stone's case in the 60 days. @CourthouseNews
@CourthouseNews AP, CNN, NYT, Washington Post and Politico filed the lawsuit in Feb 2019 and were jointly represented by an attorney in court today, with 2 assistant U.S. attorneys present and Stone's attorney calling in.
@CourthouseNews Reminder: Stone is set to be sentenced in Washington on Feb 20 after a federal jury found him guilty on all seven counts including obstruction of justice and witness tampering

Good morning from DC federal court where Rick Gates, former Trump deputy campaign manager, is set to be sentenced in just under an hour. Gates was a star witness testifying under a plea agreement in 3 criminal trials coming out of the Mueller investigation. @CourthouseNews
Gates is here clean shaven and wearing the same dark suit and powder blue tie that he showed up in to testify during the Stone trial.
Still waiting to get started. Reminder--Gates pleaded guilty last year to lying to the FBI and financial crimes. Here's a look at the agreement he signed.

A verdict on the 7 felony charges against the longtime Trump adviser seems likely before the day is out. @CourthouseNews

Plus a juror who said Stone is "certainly a flamboyant character."
Stone jury still deliberating. Judge said she would let them go home and return tomorrow if they haven't reached a verdict by 5PM.

The case against McCabe "has been under investigation for so long that the term expired for the grand jury hearing evidence. One of the lead prosecutors, Kamil Shields, was unhappy with the lengthy decision-making process and has since left the Justice Department."

The average years of service at the DOJ of this group is 12.56 years. The median is 8.25. These are not rookies. The longest serving person in this group was Jack Kolar, who left the #DOJ after over 41 years, and promptly went to work @GovAcctProj as their director of litigation
These aren't folks with antipathy for Republican Presidents. 63% of them were 1st hired under a Republican President. TWO were actually hired during Eisenhower - Bob Pennoyer, who has since retired as a partner from that lefty law firm, Patterson Belknap, and Richard Medalie.

Instead of prosecuting Epstein under federal sex trafficking laws, Acosta, then the U.S. attorney in Miami, helped negotiate a non-prosecution agreement that gave Epstein and his co-conspirators immunity from federal prosecution.

Let me remind you what I know about the women/men who work as attorneys (and agents) at #DOJ, based on my 18 yrs as an Attorney there. Even if Rod resigns or gets fired, I am confident that career men & women (many of whom are on Mueller’s team) will manage to pull us through./1
1st: Rod & Mueller have a plan for if one or both get canned. Remember how Rod deftly went around Sessions and the WH to appoint Mueller way back in 2017? He is no dummy. And neither is Mueller or any member of his team. So remember they have a plan in place. That plan will /2
