1/ A few hours ago, this tweet came to my attention. It's about AirPods revenue and it's not correct. AirPods revenue does not exceed Spotify, Twitter, Snapchat, and Shopify revenue. It's not even close either.
2/ The following screenshoot is from the linked article. Not surprisingly, nearly every financial metric found in this screenshot is wrong. The assumptions about AirPods sales mix are wrong too. Notice all those blue links.
3 / The blue links lead to:

- A Forbes article based on bad Ming-Chi Kuo #'s.
- An AppleInsider article based on bad Counterpoint Research #'s.
- A Bloomberg article with a highly questionable / hedged assertion.

And...

- Two undisclosed Amazon affiliate links (SURPRISE!)
4 / What is the lesson here?

Misinformation is rampant. Be careful what you link to / retweet on Twitter.

(By the way, the article in question put AirPods revenue at $12 billion in 2019. The actual number will end up being more like half that - closer to $7.5 billion.)

Apple just released 4Q19 earnings:

$64.0 billion of revenue
$3.03 earnings per share (EPS)

My estimates were:

$64.4 billion of revenue
$3.00 EPS
Apple's 1Q20 revenue guidance:

$85.8B to $89.5B

My expectation: $88B to $91B
Consensus: $87B

Guidance is a tad light versus my expectation but slightly better than consensus.
iPhone revenue: $33.4B (my estimate: $34.3B)
Services revenue: $12.5B (my estimate: $12.2B)
Mac revenue: $7.0B (my estimate: $7.7B)
Wearables / Home revenue: $6.5B (my estimate: $5.9B)
iPad revenue: $4.7B (my estimate: $4.4B)

The hack has been heavily commented on Twitter. Then, he bragged about been on the top hashtags.

Twitter seems to be banning or suspending accounts belonging to critics of the Chinese government. It started yesterday May 31th. Here is one report - I noticed a sudden loss of followers yesterday, I checked, it was mainly China critics. Twitter❤️🇨🇳 Amazing! @mouse @1GigiSims
This is happening as an effort to silence #China critics ahead of the anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre, which is next Tuesday. Twitter is helping China do its dirty work to silence the legitimate opposition. Twitter has hit a new all time low! 👎👎👎
One other possibility that can't be discounted is that the #Chinese government is hacking into Twitter and is deleting the accounts of Chinese critics. I did hear reports in the past, that Chinese hackers were able to get into Twitter & do that.
